  • Great phone.
Shame I dont think they will make a second

To OP: You bought the last one

  • Temporarily out of stock.

  • This is the best phone for this price by a long long way. Too bad there is no stock… Sigh. My wife would have loved this.

Nokia 8 is cheaper and has equal specs and can be bought locally. Obviously lacks a bit in the looks department but you gain micro SD card and headphone jack.

Where can i get the Nokia 8 for cheaper?

    • There's probably only one available for sale, and OP bought it.

  • not keen to get it now - not very good reviews, many say these:
    Pros
    Incredible build quality
    Beautiful edge-to-edge display
    Excellent performance
    Very good battery life
    Clean build of Android 7.1.1

    Cons
Camera needs a lot of work
No headphone jack or water resistance
    Screen could be brighter
Glossy back picks up smudges easily

    • There were multiple software updates issued to make improvements to the camera. From what I remember reading, they did make a considerable difference, but is never going to compare to a Galaxy or Pixel phone.

    What I like about it:
    + Unbranded
    + Titanium
    + Ceramic back
+ Dimensions are perfect for me.

    What I wish it had:
    - dual sim
    - micro sd card support
    - wireless charging
    - headphone jack.

    Still, I am tempted.

  • A good price. My phone (BB Priv) had been getting laggy and this Essential looks like it would be a good replacement, especially with that external DAC/3.5mm headphone plug snap-on coming out soon. Anyhoo, a factory reset on my phone has solved that problem for now…

    • How do you like the Blackberry PRIV? the specs look good and for $300 or so it looks like a good buy.

      • Where are you seeing the Blackberry PRIV for ~$300?

  • This phone seems to have had numerous issues (mostly software related) plaguing it from the get go. The 8.1 update in march appears to have ironed out most issues, though a few still persist. Another point was the reception concerns users have been reporting. This is conjecture yet I thought I'd put it out there anyway. Seems quite a reasonable price though all things considered.

I am a bit concerned about not being able to repair the screen if its dropped.

    Still ordering one though.

Just got an email today that the order has been cancelled.

    • I contacted Amazon and they told me to wait a week or so for them to restock. They also told me that when it did, I could purchase it at the amazon prime day price (388 AUD).

      • I have been told the same thing. is there any way I can find out when it comes back in stock.

        • I personally dont think it will ever come back in stock on Amazon.com.au if they cancelled it but i guess contacting them over phone again might work.

        • @ayyofam:

The phone is still available at Amazon, US. Maybe it can come back.

        • @hawamahal:
Yeah hopefully it does, but i have no idea of amazon's track record with this stuff so im not getting my hopes up just yet.

        • @ayyofam:

I managed to order one and then had a chat to Amazon AU and they are going to refund the price difference.

        • @hawamahal: yeah i saw that it was back in stock :) but i already bought the mi 8 deal and for better specs and $150 for me it's more worth :)
