Best Batteries for Xbox One Gaming

Hi team

I am currently going through 4 AA batteries a day playing PUBG with a wired headset.

What is the best alternative to this? I am happy to go with rechargeable but I am not sure which is the best value for money..

Thank you in advance

Benny

I've got the Play & Charge Kit in all my controllers (official one) and they are great! Best thing is when it runs flat you plug in and continue playing while it is charging (and comes with a 3m cable).

    They are $30 RRP
Go on sale every now and then for $25
Can be purchased pre-owned from ebgames for a few dollars (battery only is $5 and the kit is $15) 3 of my batteries are pre-owned and haven't had any issues.

sounds like you may need option "all day"

    .

    • Yes 2-3 hours. The Energizer batteries I bought from JB Hi-Fi last seriously two games of PUBG.

I got the energizer kit on special at EB, actually its on special again now - https://ebgames.com.au/xbox-one-164302-Microsoft-Licensed-En…

I often leave it off charge and have never had the battery die on me. I had the official play and charge but I never plugged it in until it was dead, this is much easier to ensure regular charging.

    • I picked that one up too and it's great.

You're going through 4 batteries every day playing Xbox ?

Perhaps you should get out more.

Back to the question… yes, get the Play and Charge like a previous poster mentioned.

    • I was using the Duracell batteries from Catch of the Day but I needed some more quick so bought some Energizers from JB Hi-Fi and they are hopeless.

I play about 2-3 games of PUBG every night and going through 4 batteries is hopeless.

I just realised it sounds like in my post that I play the XBox all day lol

      • Fair enough.

Grab Vartas from Bunnings if you want disposables.

I had one long session with mates on Sea of Thieves once for about 4 hours and the batteries only went down by half.

I have enough eneloops to last a long time, a shame they don't go on sale anymore.

    • +1 here
      eneloops all the way.

And if you can't get them, then get the Ikea rechargables, which is essentially the same thing.

you won't regret buying rechargeable batteries… any to begin with… nothing is worse than being pipped at at the post by dead batteries. +1 karma point for minimising landfill…

  • Just get the official play and charge kit… it's brilliant.

  • Umm eneloops? or get the lada from aldi. Otherwise get the play and charge kit.

You mean you're on ozbargain and don't have eneloops and a charger for them yet?

  • You can get a preowned rechargeable battery pack for $2 at EB Games here. Its instore only but it looks to have plenty of stores that have it instock. It works great and all you need is a micro-usb cable to charge it.

  • Try these?
    https://ebgames.com.au/loot-236275-VARTA-Rechargeable-Batter…
Can be price matched at Bunnings

  • I use Varta rechargeables and have no complaints.

I'd rather buy rechargable AA batteries over a battery pack as you have the flexibility to use them in other household products.

Coles sell rechargeable batteries which were highly rated by Choice but they are lower capacity to Eneloops https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/product/coles-brand-b…

Maybe your Energizers were close to expiry when you purchased them. You could also try playing with vibration turned off on your controller.
