Hi all. This deal just got better. amaysim has been kind enough to give us an increase for the last 12 hours of their promo. For the purposes of point (10) below, this is considered a new offer so go for it! Quite literally $15 profit ($25 cashback minus $10 cost) with access to amaysim’s Unlimited 1GB mobile plan on the house. The critical requirements in order to avail of this cashback are (1) you are a new amaysim customer, (2) activate on or prior to July 31, and (3) you click out via the Cashrewards link in the post. Please read these important guidelines & T&Cs before proceeding:

      You could try https://www.amaysim.com.au/my-account/activate or failing that contact customer service which are usually very helpful and they will be able to activate the SIMs for you.

      • Tried that activate link, entered SIM number - it then wanted me to pay again for the plan!! Rang Amaysim & was told their system thought I only had a $2 SIM! They have to change settings before activation can work in your account - at least if porting.

    • Contact Amaysim as I found this problem too. But Amaysim just kept saying there wasn't a problem with their system, but my SIM had no plan - it was a $2 SIM!
      Eventually they said they have to change their settings to allow activation & port!!

      Yes, I am getting this too. The livechat person had no clue about why and rather than admit that, just ignored my question each time. I'm not confident enough in their support to trust them with my long-held number.

    • Had same issue, went to Amaysim live chat, they asked for verification details (phone number, email, last 4 digits of card used to make payment) but linked the phone number to the sim within 30 mins.
      Edit: Live Chat Support Person was Cecille V for me.

    • Just turn off auto renewal and if you pay with PayPal make sure you cancel the "preapproved payment"

  • Looks like even if you paid by Amex (as noted by Zippy7 above) and MasterCard (which I did), you still need ID verification at the Amaysim website to activate the SIM. Can others confirm? And if so, number 6 in the guidleines might need to be amended.

    • Yes. ID verification still needed on Amaysim website to activate SIM for payment by credit card.

      • Actually, I was told by someone who paid with his Visa card, and didn't appear that they need ID verification to activate the SIM. Not sure how they decide if that is the case.

  • Tried 2 credit cards
    Both $1 pending but amaysim said payment failed…

    • I got a failed message during signup, but when I checked later, I found amaysim charged my card twice ($10 x 2) for one transaction.
      I talked to two other friends who also had failures during the signup process.
      It's not good for the potential customer when the initial signup process fails…
      In the end, I assumed I missed out on the cashback, because of the errors, so I just cancelled everything.

    It seems some of us are obtaining refunds because it didn't 'take' anyway. I usually have no problem with Cashrewards and scratch my head over why people do. But I noticed this one kept turning off the Cashrewards browser plugin. So I gave up trying to activate it, and just followed the instructions as typed. But it seems it didn't work. I'm on livechat with Amaysim now trying to obtain a refund.

      Bought 2 $40 Amaysin on ShopBack (tracked) & now looks like won't get cash back. So refund on SIMs yet to be activated (to be ported) may be only way out. Waiting on response from ShopBack.

        I spoke to someone on chat who claims to have processed the refund right away, without any argument or fuss.
        The refund process has so far been simple and painless for me.
        I say "so far" since I will have to wait a few days for the refund to reflect on my credit card, but it seems as though all has gone as expected.

    Ordered and got order failed (have screenshot), but it would seem the sim is coming and credit card has been charged (according to emailed Tax Invoice), but charge is yet to appear on credit card (the card used does not show pre-auth transactions).

    "Something went wrong. Please try again or let us know if the problem keeps happening."

    Click history is present but purchase did not track on Cash Rewards.

    Should I be looking to get a refund now, or will cashback be honoured if I can produce details?

    • If your order failed, likelihood is your purchase won’t track. If it did track, they may decline down the line. To avoid disappointment, I suggest you request cancellation & refund from amaysim.

    Mine just reset to 28 days after I made my first sms and call.

    Optus coverage has surprisingly increased in my area for some odd reason. I might switch from Kogan at a later date but an extra few dollars gets an extra 2 GB data.. ;-(

  • Got an email from CashRewards before stating that it has been tracked - but the cashback amount is only $3.5. Might try and reach out to them

    • CR account shows the original $25 as pending, plus an additional $3.5 reward on $0 spend about 4 days later. Hmmmm.

    Received the SIM in the mail today, and when I go to my account "dashboard" and click "activate sim" it takes me to a page that says "Your SIM card is packed and ready for delivery. We'll email you when it’s sent."

    How do I activate?

      I encountered this "error" before. Basically you need to live chat or call them to associate the sim you have received with the number/account.

    • I'm having exactly the same problem. Will call them tomorrow to manually activate sim cards.

  • Anyone who is having trouble activating their SIM card should contact customer service. My SIM card was not linked to my account and I could not activate it through my online account. I contacted Amaysim via Live Chat and it was a very quick and easy process to have the SIM card activated and linked to my account.

    • If you don’t have a click, there’s no way it can track. You may as well cancel the order :)

    Can't activate sim or access live chat. There website keeps giving browser errors saying some content is unsecured.. I unblock it and it still doesn't work. Im having these issues on my home and work internet. I sent them an email but Im not feeling too good about this!

    • I was able to chat with them and had my sim activated at 1pm this afternoon.

    • Can't activate from my account as well, but can also confirm live chat sorted that out for me :-).

      • Eventually I got connected to live chat who sorted it out for me as well.

    Received SIM card. Have supplied ID to amaysim, but website shows a blank section for the activation.
    Seems I have a sim card that is not linked to my account.
    Have emailed support as no one is online at this time (need to wait until at least 10am for online chat).
    Hopefully they will activate it today, worst case is 2 business days, which if they are trying to stuff people around for the cashback, might get more people offside.

    • Email won't help much. Live chat is the way as they need to ask you for personal info, e.g. name, DOB, payment method, etc. They usually get it done in a couple of minutes.

    I'm another person who is having the issue of being sent a SIM that won't activate without wanting to charge me the $10 again. The only way open at the moment to contact amaysim is to send an email which has up to a 2 business day turnaround time, taking me to the July 31 limit for the cashback.

    And I haven't even received the other SIM I ordered for my mum and it's been over 7 business days since ordered. What happens with regarding to the cashback if we don't receive the SIM before the July 31 activation cutoff, or there are still issues with activation causing this date to be missed?

    • According to TA, it is unlikely you can get the cash back. Ask for refund on July 31 afternoon. That's what I am planning to for mine.

      SIM is not associated with your account, so need to ask that to be done!

      Ended up in an argument. They promised a supervisor would call within 8 business hours - but never did!

      Don't try activating any place online except within your account - links to activate just ask you to buy new plan because SIM is not associated with an account!

  • I'm activating now but it asks for payment details, and on the top right corner where "your order" is, it shows $10 total for checkout. But I already paid when I bought this sim card using the link OP provided. I don't want to pay double for it. Has anyone else experienced it?

    The Amaysim website is not allowing online activation.Have sent email but have to wait for a response. TA, what should we do if Amaysim do not activate by 31 July? Does that mean we lose rebate?

  • These god damn scumbags just charged me $10 recurring payment even though I turned off auto renewal and now they are playing stupid saying I didn't and forgot it even though I have a screenshot of it.
    I knew this would happen, it's the only way they profit off those cashback "specials"!
    Never again!
    P.S. yes it is still a $5 profit but this shit is not worth the hassle

      WTF! I just got a $10 charge on my Paypal too? And I am sure that I also turned off the renewal, but my account shows that is actually ON. I had to contact them to get the SIM activated, I wonder if that disrupted things. Not impressed at all!

        • I just got on live chat and they issued a refund without any drama. I am quite sure I cancelled it, I always do with these sorts of deals. Not sure what might have happened, but at least they refunded.
