Officeworks - ACER 5820TG Laptop - on Clearance King St Melb - $989.10 (or Is It $890.19)

80

Apparently this sucker can play Bad Company 2. Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, 1GB Radeon Graphics.

Staticice have it for $1136 refurbed, so if this can be had for under $900 (not sure if that is the legit price), then even for an acer, that's a good price for a gaming capable lappie.

relax dude…. he's just trying to show some bargains… don't get to technical and lighten up. appreciate and comment about the deal… if not then don't say anything at all! loser!

      • couldnt be more relaxed atm , maybe you could take some of your own advice hmmmm lol

not bad. u must of been going around the entire officeworks store and taking pics of deals! haha mad fella :P

  • Is this the Kings Way store in South Melb. I can't find a King St store on the officeworks site. I'm not from Vic.

    • This is in Vic, there is a King St store in Melb.

    • for some reason the store is listed as Collins Street, Melbourne. Even though the front of the store is on King. soz about that.

got store discount to $865 then its got $169 Acer cashback, takes it down to $696, bought the last one at parramatta, brand new too, not return or display stock

    • wow that is good as
      $865 down to $696

    • very very nice deal… i have this laptop.. bought it about 6months ago for $1365 with $169 cashback

      awesome specs and battery life

i also saw this same price @ blacktown about a month ago.. it was the display model.. i posted it on wp and it's no longer there

for those interested in a similar spec'd machine Mwave has the Acer Travelmate TM5740G-524G50Mn for $879 with a $99 cashback before 28 feb —> http://www.mwave.com.au/sku-31010839

only difference i believe is no hybrid graphics and hence battery life is not as good.. oh and it's not as thin and light as the TimelineX 5820TG

      • CVonV, have you had any issues with the laptop, do you play games? things run smoothly? was always a bit wary with acer, but could not resist for the price

        • yeah i play l4d2.. runs it very well.. the 5650 overclocks pretty well too.. mine goes to 700/1050MHz from a default of 550/800

no issues.. the only thing i could wish for on this is an e-sata and firewire port. and having no expresscard slot, you won't be able to add anything in the future

temperatures get a little high during gaming (even on a cooler) but it's summer so i'm not surprised.. the cpu and gpu will get upto the 90s during really hot days if i'm gaming.. but it's never shutdown or throttled because of it.. it's also a very quiet laptop

battery life is around 6 hours on light use on the integrated gfx and on 32bit windows.. i only get around 4 hours on 64bit for some reason

speakers are shit but i never use them anyway

webcam is fine, does the job.. microphone is shit picks up a lot of noise

          anything else?

  • how did u get store discount to 865? just bargaining?
