This game is quite a bit better now than it was at launch. Many hours of single-player content. I got it free with my ps4 and wanted to trade it in, but value was too low. I have played most of the previous games, but the fact that this was mostly supposed to be online turned me off. I think I have more hours in it now than any other ps4 game.

Yea but the AI is actually some of the worst AI I have ever seen. If you want to do the challenges etc it's not too bad. Although this price is what it is worth IMO. I did get a few hours of play getting all the gold awards, then went back to Project Cars 2.

      • I mostly just run time trials.

        • Oh okay, I prefer racing against other cars etc

This game is quite a bit better now than it was at launch.

Agreed. The release was a bit disappointing with multiplayer only and limited tracks. I reckon it was released in an unfinished state to be ready for 2017 Christmas. Since launch they've added way more tracks like Sarthe, and a bunch more cars, and a single-player campaign.

However it's still not as much content as other Gran Turismo releases. I reckon there's another few years development remaining before it can compete with GT4 - still the best Gran Turismo. But at $15 it's an absolute bargain.

It's still.. Gran Turismo 7 Prologue.

    • -2

It really is. There's like 20 cars and more fictitious tracks than real world tracks. It's the weirdest gt I have played.

      • +3

There's about 200 cars now and they've been adding tracks about monthly bi-monthly.

        • -3

Ahhhhh not in my game…..I'm fully updated…they added more fictitious tracks, also duplicate of the same model don't count mate. Having 6 different liveries of a corvette dosn't count as 6 cars. All up it feels like they have 20 unique models.

LOL that's 27 cars right there.

        • @OnlinePred:

The added Monza, Tsukuba and De La Sarthe… You do realise they are real locations and tracks?

        • @dvsbastard: Yes, thanks for the clarification. Have you ever played other racing games? Or even followed motorsports?

Mazda Laguna Seca? Monaco??? Silverstone?????? LOL these are some of the best tracks in the world, and GTS doesn't have them….

        • @OnlinePred:
I agree that GT is lacking tracks. But what has that got to do with "they added more fictitious tracks"?

        • @dvsbastard: They added a few tracks, but most are fictitious. It's weird. Like I know a lot of tracks by heart, but then they create these made up ones while not including major tracks…

Got it for $13 and something from Amazon a while ago.

    • +9

      Cool story

    • It was 15 on Amazon not too long ago

    • +1

Didn't want to share that deal with the rest of us?

    • Got it for $5 off Facebook marketplace a while ago

  • Definitely recommend it at this price after these updates and another dropping in 4-5 days with a few new cars and a track apparently.
Can easily see this becoming one of the better Gran Turismos just wish a 24h Nurburgring and Le Man were in the endurance series

An opinion of a long time GT player and lover from PS1 days

  • Time to sell my physical copy and upgrade to digital! Kind of game that i play every now and again and don’t like changing disks.

    • +1

I do this too. Sell my physical copy to get it digital, for the convenience. But only if there's a decent resale value.

This gen all my driving games are digital. Being able to jump into a driving game casually seems to be ideal. Having said that, i've not spent much time with my driving games this gen or last. Still love and admire them, but get caught up with single player shooters and things.

  • +2

Whole bunch of stuff real cheap. Bound, SoTC, Everybody's Golf… I haven't bothered to check prices vs historical prices, just happened to notice that much of my wishlist was cheap.

    Thanks OP!

  • Picked mine up on the Amazon deal, great game and the patched in single player content makes a big difference for me.

  • Thanks OP.
Would be interested to see what EB trades this game for.
With this deal still going (which isn't expired yet)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/390041
we can basically trade our copy of Gran Turismo, get $15 bonus credit for ps store, then have whatever Gran Turismo sports trades for (minus $5to use for anything else in store.
Can also 'hold' store credit, by putting it onto a pre-order in the distant future, then just cancel pre-order whenever you want, to use leftover credit on whatever you want.
Note not ideal for everyone, but personally, I prefer the digital copy, since my games are rarely used on any console besides my own, and digital copy should load faster I guess, plus don't need to change discs

    • +1

Last time I contacted EB, it was $13. Add 5/10/15/20% based on your EB World card.

      • True, I found this out yesterday myself. It only trades for $13 or an extra $1.30 for me because of eb worlds card.
Eb said the trade value went down because game came in a console bundle, and soooo many people traded it at that time, so price went down.
**Think I will check ebay or gumtree to sell my Gran Turismo game disc. Have so much credit up from the Eb vbucks bonus deals, might as well get digital copy.

  • +1

How do you get $16.95? I see $24.95, plus extra 10% off for ps plus members.

    • 78% off $79.95 is $16.95? That's what it's showing for me, I'm logged in and on PS4.

Edit: Plus an extra dollar discount apparently? Idk, it's coming up as $16.95 for me!

    • +2

      10% off original price ($7.80), not 10% off $24.95 ($2.50)

      • ahhhhhhhhhh. This makes sense. Thanks :)

  • +1

holy crap that is good value….
