PS. I am not so sure what you can get from their freebies bag. But it might be something similar to what Go!Channel did before, like some drinks, snacks, and small accessories. It is good when you are in the areas but don't think it is worth to drive some distances for the freebies.

  • why dont they call it twelve? i can never understand why 11 is on 12

    god DAYUM

    • +2

the channel Hello is actually on channel 11. I had the same confusion because channel 11(hello) was actually on channel 12, however,if you update your channels by rescanning. you will find that the problem is fixed.

    • +24

Be glad you're not in a regional area, where Ten is 5, ONE is 50, 11 is 55, Seven is 6, and Nine is 8. Now that's illogical.

      • +3

        LOL wtf….

      • +3

If your in GC, you get both…which means like 20 repeated channels ><

    • -1

      probably for marketing:

      HELLO = Hello = He11o

I saw the car by complete coincidence in my supermarket car park a week or two ago. I was one of the first there so had a choice of a few things but selected a brushed metal screw top water flask. It has a prominent Channel 11 logo on it but is well sized and a great freebie. I also received a bite-sized chocolate bar, some Hungry Jacks vouchers etc. In order to qualify I had to tell them what date and time of day the channel had launched. The two guys gave away massive hints and it was pretty obvious it had launched on 11 January at 11am. Hope this helps someone!

    Where is the bargain?

    • You have a chance to get something for free!! Woohoo I like chance

      • -2

Something for free? For all we know it could be crap and probably is promotional junk I wouldn't wear/use if they paid me as they should.

  • Willunga? Why would they go deep south? How about somewhere somebody actually travels?

    • Yeah to far for me :(

    • Maybe 'cause it's getting (or, by now, has already got) connected to the NBN…?

  • +3

I just hope like hell they don't try handing me the keys to the micra as a freebie…

    • +1

OMG that would be the worst.

  • +2

So they're doing the 'Brisbane' one in Noosaville - nearly 2 hours drive from Brisbane!!?!

  • not really free when you count the cost of your time and getting there and back to where you came from

    • +2

yeah but still worth mentioning to others

  • -6

Sunshine Coast is not in Brisbane.

    • Not neg worthy…

    • and…..

      • +2

no one is going to drive all the way up there for freebies they may or may not get. This is more for sunshine coasters than brisbanites.

If the promoters were really intending this for brisbane people they would be holding it in brisbane not a long drive away outside of the city.

        • i hate when things are only for people in the city though its better if they move from suburb to suburb and cover the north shore, northern beaches etc in Sydney.

        • +1

To nubzy - I'm not saying they shouldn't offer things to people outside they city but if they say it's in the city then it should be.

Anyway, I just went to their site and saw that they did come by but it's past. I guess they were genuine about giving out freebies but maybe they should have put it under QLD or SE QLD. An accurate description doesn't make people feel like they are being tricked.

  • +1

    where the hell is woolwhich..
they always have these things out west or in woop woop.

might make a drive anyway i love free things.

  • lower north shore, not far from cbd, definitely not out in 'woop woop' land!

  • ah im on north shore in gordon :) i will have drive there then.

I have to admit, this place is really far from Adelaide. About 1.5 h drive at 80km/h. Its further south than Seaford or Norlunga. I just don't get why are they driving to there for.

    • -4

That is why I believe this deal deserves a neg. If the promoters were genuine about offering these freebies to the people in the advertised cities they would be offering it closer to them not miles away. why even advertise Adelaide if its not even in Adelaide? Sounds like they want the free word of mouth while making the freebies really hard to get..

      • +5

How dare they give free stuff to people in outlying areas!!

        • -4

Because the outlying area is not in the city advertised. If they're giving free stuff to people in outlying areas then they shouldnt name the city miles away with it. Doin gso is misleading which is not what ozbargain is about.

Like I wrote above "I’m not saying they shouldn’t offer things to people outside they city but if they say it’s in the city then it should be."

This is the point I was making not WHO it was being offered to. Anyway I'm done explaining this over and over. I'm going to watch The Sarah Conner Chronicles. :)

        • +1

Yes but you can read here the exact address, they have hardly done you a disservice… Plus if you go to the site they are going to different places over different days.

      • +2

It's so the people who DON'T live in the inner suburbs actually get a chance for once. Admittedly I read this too late but Eltham would have been awesome for me - A 15 minute drive. Where as if it was inner city, I'd be looking at 1hr, give or take.
Not everyone lives within a few Ks of the CBD.

        • -2

read posts above. I'm not goign to repeat myself yet again.

My point isn'tabout WHO it is being offered to.

        • -1

Maybe not, but your post is still inaccurate.

The outer suburbs of Melbourne, for example, is still a part of the city of Melbourne. Just because it's an hr drive from the CBD does not mean that it isn't in the city.

        • Looks like the cars have already been through the inner suburbs, just this weekend they are outside the cities, check the links you can see where they've been.

      • We have 11 in adelaide… 0_0

    • 1.5 hours? your dreaming mate!
I could drive there in 45 mins from west beach no worries.

  • +8

Hey whiners, I'm in TAS, and I aint complaining that I would have to catch a plane/boat/TARDIS to get to another city for the promo. Dont neg something just cos it's out of your way. When I used to live in Melbs, about 1.5 hours out of the city, I still considered myself as "living in Melbourne". I still think its great fweebee for peeps who live in that area, and for peeps like myself for whom travel is not worthwhile, suck it up/write a letter to Gillard about your disappointment with the lies lies lies lies spread by commercial television networks!

    • well said

  • Just realised they were literally a 2min walk away from my house yesterday.
    Absolutely devastated…

  • Anyone know what the freebies are?
i remember when i was young, about when i was in Grade 7/8, we went to parks and regularly there would be radio vans handing out freebies

    • The Black Thunders anyone? :)

  • going to woolwhich in 45mins.

  • Got a pair of thong, nudie juice and buy one get one free whopper vouchers.

    • +1

Thank you for letting us know. I will drop by the VIC one later at 2PM.

    • +2

Feel like to neg my own post for the first time.
Was there at the JJ Holland Park for at least 45 mins.
But no show, ended up watching cricket games there in stead -"-

      • LOL

      • I was there too. Where were you waiting at?

  • it wasn't anything special anyway lol. Thought they would have put a few food products and samples in. The nudie juice is nice though.

I miss all the radio stations that used to have cars travelling around giving out free stuff, doesn't seem to happen anymore :(

    • The juice would be nice. That would make my time watching cricket game there more pleasant :-D Still, nice weather today at the park.

  • Got some freebies @ Woolwich. Gotta love the beach ball!

  • what did everyone get in the freebies

i didnt get a beachball I saw they gave it to kids though
