    Only 1 :(

Miss those days of getting 5 $1 burgers and a diet coke

    • +1

It said single use. Try getting a few in single transaction.

  • 🎯Happily targeted🎯

  • What's the normal price? Isn't it already part of the loose change menu?

  • Fave cheeseburger?? It tastes the same as Woolies freezer burgers.

    • +1

      Really? Woolworths here i come!!

    • Only without so much fat, grease and oil lol

  • I wonder if they make a loss selling these for $1.

I remember when I was state side, they had 99c burgers all day, every day. Getting a penny in change was annoying.

    • +3

more annoying when you're in a state that charges sales tax and you end up getting charged like $1.04…

      • +5

Oh now that you mention it, that did happen. I only had a $1 note on me and the cashier looked at me like a fool when I didn't have an extra 4c to pay. Her facial expression changed when I spoke up in an Aussie accent though.

Made me appreciate how Australia has GST included in the pricing (don't really like the GST to begin with however)

        • +1

Yes it is so weird that they don't include tax in the displayed prices, I was on the boat going to visit liberty Island and there was a stall on it selling drinks and chocolate bars etc. The prices were displayed so I gathered up correct change before I went over there and I was a few cents short!! I had to go back to the bf to get a few more cents. Completely retarded way to do things

    • +2

Judging by the quality, I don't think they make a loss at $1.

    • +3

Probably, if you buy one. Big cost to mcdonalds is people. If you go to the counter and order and it takes 20 seconds to order, pay, get a receipt and move on that costs mcdonalds 10c in wages. Another 20 seconds for someone to bag your order, call it out and you go grab it, another 10c. That's 20c out of that dollar (about 91c exc gst) without actually doing anything towards making a hamburger.

Its why add-ons are usually cheaper. If you're adding to an order it adds very little time to check in and check out, the marketing dollars have already gotten you into the store, if you put a cost per transaction on using the app it adds nothing, it's just food cost and cooking time, less ancillary costs. Good value for us, but also for them.

      • You're forgetting the important fact that they also do table service via the app which costs them money too.

      • So you are saying they pay their employees at $18 per hour? (If maths is right)

That seems rather high when the majority of crew are like 15.

        • Go to a maccas at lunch time on an average day and not many of them are 15. I went with an average.

Someone who is 21 is $29 an hour on a casual rate, then add super and payroll tax. Even 15 year olds earn $12 as a casual at maccas.

        • +1

@freefall101: Big lol. I'm 15 and get paid $10.63 as a casual employee. It's under the award agreement from 2013 that got rid of our penalty rates :(.

        • @ultraboyz63: really? I'm pretty sure I got paid at least $9 an hour as a 13 year old in 1999-2000

        • @freefall101:
Keep dreaming!! $29 an hour for a maccas employee? You've been smoking the herb. $25 will be the max for a manager. Assistant Manager around few dollars less depending on age. The rest of the staff are almost always under 21, so average wage will be around $15-16.

        • @Monstalova:

Sorry, typo on my end, should have been 28. July 1, 2018 casual rate for 21 plus is 27.85 to be exact, for someone level 2 (level 1 I'm not sure on those rates, would be around 26.20). That's casual, so includes 25% loading but no holidays or sick leave.

Makes up slightly for them not getting penalty rates by earning about 30c an hour more than the fast food award rate. The "better off" test for ebas is a joke.

my app currently showing me the "2 x mcClassics for $6" deal as well as the $1 large fries. perfect combo!

  • My app doesn't let me past the first page…

  • Is there a limit on how many chezzas I can buy?

  • It seems to me the "Targeted" deal is more towards to the people who use these apps more frequently, so if you don't use it often, you won't be targeted…

  • $1 Hash Brown is my offer! Maccas must know I go there for brekky more than any other meal! Haha

    • Wait…they charge more than $1 for a hash brown normally??!!

      • Normally like $2.15 or something ridiculous.

  • I got offered 6 nuggets for $2.

  • +3

I don't know what I was offered because I got KFC $2 chips instead 🍟🍟

    • +1

In that case, your offer was [APP EXCLUSIVE] 24 Nuggets for $10 o.O

  • I got $1 hash brown. Worst deal ever.

  • i use my app all the time and always get the lamer of the two deals ($1 fries) while my wife who never uses the app except when I get her to order me something always gets the better offer (cheesebugger)

  • After several attempts in the past, I decided to download it again and try it. The new app actually works for me!! Finally, I get to use these specials!

I quickly go to My Rewards, and alas, nothing.

So, the Macca's app lets me down again. ;(

    • After a little while, it came up with the 2 for $6.

  • Got the cheeseburger offer.
