it has been posted a few times recently. It is probably the best price/value card that you can get by a lot.

Can anyone confirm if this is the best bang for buck gfx card out there atm?

    Really tempted to buy it…

It is. It is very close to the performance of the GTX 1060 3GB, a card that sells for around $280 ~ 300.

I'll be getting mine delivered tomorrow, so I'll run some tests on it and see what kind of score it can get on 3dMark. You can google it yourself though.

      • same here, says deliver tmr

        • My results are here

        • @scrimshaw:

Filthy Hobbitses. I got this card today and will pair it with my i5 8400. You have two roughly equal tier cards are you planning to mine or hustle the gumtree/ebay??? or take advantage of generous try before you buy ebay plus ;)

        • @McCree:

I do not own the GTX 1060 anymore, I sold it last month. The Nvidia results were recorded last year.

The new RX card is for my brother's gaming rig upgrade. I don't mine and I only have a GTX 1050 2GB in my system.

At this price, yes, best bang for your back by far.

GTX 1060 3gb, that trade blows with this, starts @ $300+.

  • This coupled with an i5, would it run PCars 2 well in 4k or VR?

    • +3

      This isn't a 4k card, more so for 1080p medium / high @ 60fps.

You're looking at something triple the price if you want 4k, e.g you can buy a 1070 Ti and overclocking it yourself for instance to get close to the performance of a 1080.

An RX 570 should be good for an average of 60fps at 1080p with ultra settings in Project Cars 2 based on some quick searching. If you turn settings down to medium, you can increase the resolution to at least 1440p and maintain over 60fps on average.

To get to 4K, you're going to need to either turn graphical settings down even further to keep the framerate up, or force the game to a half-rate refresh mode (30fps lock on a 60Hz monitor). If you've got a 4K FreeSync monitor, that'll help smooth things out as you push the resolution up, assuming you can keep the framerate above the minimum FreeSync refresh rate.

I play VR on Vega 56, two AMD cards more powerful than the RX 570, I cannot put all settings to Very High / Ultra and maintain the required 90 fps, I've got to compromise. The more you are happy to compromise, the better this card will do.

I'd recommend a minimum of RX 580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB for VR, though GTX 1070 / Vega 56 or better is recommended.
