  A box pods are around $8.50 each. So for 20 you're looking at about $170. Pretty good deal seeing as the machine price is $199!

  These are the pods that Nestle brought out to compete with non-genuine Nespresso pods and other cheaper pod styles. A dual brand strategy like Coke/Kirks to suck up both top and bottom of the market. Anyway, the important part is they make cappuccino etc from milk powder which doesn't turn out too grand, and requires two pods. If you're moving from a teaspoon of coffee powder and a dash of milk then it might not be so bad to make black coffee with this.

    The cappuccino pods taste terrible and way overpriced.
    Made from instant coffee.

    In fact all Dolce Gusto pods are overpriced and barely on special.
    There aren't many (if any) third party Dolce Gusto pod makers which make it even less attractive.

    Lucky I only paid $28 for the Eclipse Dolce Gusto machine in the Amazon deal back in June.
    I gave it away and going to buy a NESPRESSO machine instead.

      The cappuccino pods are not made from instant coffee!!
      And they taste great too.
      Only the Cafe Au Lait and Flat White use soluble coffee.

      The powdered milk is an acquired taste but then you don't have to purchase the ones that contain milk capsules.

      The coffee tastes better than Nespresso. In fact most of the Nespresso compatible brands are better than the original. L'OR, Moccona, Baileys are really good. Baileys is well worth the price.

  Agree that cappuccino pods are a ripoff because you need two for each cup. The latte pods are great in comparison, they taste great and if you want you can add frothed milk for an even better taste. Purchased the piccollini during the Amazon sales and think it is brilliant. Have machines that use Nespresso pods and one that uses grounds but prefer the dolce gusto. Admittedly you are restricted by comparison to other machines but find it convenient and love the taste.
