      And also against ACCC legislation.

      • I've seen a few questionable listing/practices on Amazon. I wonder whose responsible. AmazonAU or the OS based seller (good luck).

  • Just remember 1 ounce = 28 grams

    • +3

      28.3

      • Be careful as only the international avoirdupois ounce is 28.3 grams.

The Apothecaries ounce is 31.1 grams.

    • +1

Fun fact, 2x20c coins 1x10c coin adds up to an ounce. ;)

      • Noted!

    • Where can I see the shipping cost in the Amazon ordering process?

      • In your cart or at checkout

        • Either. I am logged in. I went up to the credit card part and couldn't see any shipping rates, not even on the shipping part.

      • Once you pay and have buyer's remorse.

  • +1

Just bought one from kmart yesterday.
. Might return and save $2.

    • Yeah I did this a couple weeks ago but sadly this is sold out now

  • Is this two different scales with different weight ranges? Or does it have 2 different modes with different weight ranges? How'd it go measuring a shot of ground coffee?

    • +1

Looks like different models since you have to choose when buying.

    • Other then weight range, they are the same size, and the appearance are the same.

  • Needed one last night. Bought this thanks

Who knew electroplating technology was so smart. Also deadweight ton?!

    • Well, the max range is 3kg so there will be a lot of zeros.

I have had one of these around a year now, its a good unit. Can recommend it.

  • Thanks OP

I bought this 0.1-3000g version previously from Amazon and it's a piece of crap. I don't recommend it.

Very cheap build quality, display has terrible viewing angles (annoyingly you can't read it looking straight down on the scale, need to stand back a bit), and the power-off time-out is annoyingly short.

FYI it looks like there are a few different sellers all selling the same item repackaged under different "brands".

    • Thanks man, didn't buy because of your comment.

  • Why would you go for the 500 when the 3000 is the same price???

    • it was a joke but weed is a good answer

    • +4

The 500g one measure in 0.01g increment, while the 3,000g one measure in 0.1g increment.

  • Would the 0.01 - 500 g one be good for weighing coffee grinds in the group handle/porta filter?

Are group handles more than 500g, they're pretty hefty.

    • I believe you can place the group handle on to the scale, then tare the scale to zero.

    • +1

It's too small to do this effectively.

    • I reckon this would work, I got one for this. Can imagine the handle weighs more than 1/2 a kilo. If not I just blew best part of $10. What the hell I bought that damn piano the other day and wasn’t even looking for that one.

    • Mine weighs 520gms empty or 540gms+ with coffee so no good for me. Either way I dont buy its accuracy for $10.

    • you'll need one with a wider/longer plate so it can fit the length of the group handle.
I have taken over the kitchen scales.

    • I always weigh out one basket worth beforehand then chuck in grinder. Can load up too shots at a time in the grinder and have a third in the espresso glass I use to weigh with. sometimes I measure the ground coffee and it always weighs a few more miligrams.

Keeps the shot as consistent as possible.

Also this way I dont have beans going stale in the grinder or excess waste of expensive coffeebeans.

  • +1

    Only 500g left.

  • +1

This thing can measure at a resolution of 0.01g for $10? I dont think so.

    • My rule of thumb for these cheap looking scales is you go an extra decimal. So if you want to weigh in grams and .1 of a gram fairly accurately, then something that reckons it can go 0.01g should be fine. Just don't try to actually weigh by the .01 of a gram.

  • Looks to be sold out.
