Tell Me Your Driving Habit and I Will Guess Your Personality

I just returned from a long 450 Kms drive which included nearly 400 Km motorway driving & now read another forum topic about going 10 kmph above speed limit on a 110 freeway.

It got me thinking, Whats your driving style.
Choose your driving style on the motorway (110 KMPH Speed Limit) from the options below and I will guess your personality.

If you choose:
1: You are constantly trying to push the boundaries, taking risks to see what you can get away with. Are you also invested in Bitcoins?
2: You aim to follow all rules to the letter. Your personality depends on which one of the options 1 or 3 you find acceptable.
3: The government has decided the speed limit with good reason. You are extra cautious and limit so that you do not exceed the limit even when going downhill. * I hate getting stuck behind you on motorways *
4: You are the dick with the porsche, screaming "get out of my way". The highest limit on your speedo is a target worth achieving.
5: If you are P-Plater, Good on you for sticking to the rules. If not, you should never be allowed on a motorway.

I see cyclists on the road, i honk and scream gtfo pay rego.
    (I don't actually, mostly).

    • I don't drive. I'm deeply offended there is no poll option for me. I need some crayons and a puppy dog.

Cruise control set at GPS speed limit. Which means 5% higher than Speedo.

    Option 2?

When driving on major roadways I go exactly at GPS speed limit. Sometimes it moves +/-2 according to how the cruise control is feeling on the day.
When driving on rural areas on major roads I do the same.
When driving on remote rural roads, I drive to the conditions. Whether this be at the limit, beyond the limit, under the limit.

      • I believe you should always drive to the conditions.

However I would try my best to stay at the speed limit especially in such roads

    • I would say thats still Option 2. Option 1 would be 5KMPH above speed limit based on GPS speed. Test the limits you can get away with no speeding tickets. :)

I just returned from a long 450 Kms drive

    I do this 2-5 times a month :P

The one thing it has taught me is not to road rage and generally dgaf if someone floors it and overtakes. Unless they go do 90-100 in the single lane 110km zones until they hit the overtaking lanes and floor it.

    • I can only muster enough courage for such a trip with atleast 3 months gap. With road rage and my DD nagging " Are we there yet" I avoid any journeys above 100 Kms if avoidable.

      • They're usually quite remote drives for me so quite relaxing. It's a requirement of my job so no getting out of it for me.

  • I usually set the cruise control for 8km/h over the limit in areas i consider it safe to do so (freeways etc), coz fixed speed cameras dont flash me at that speed.

    • 8 over by speedo or gps?

8 over on the Speedo is probably right in the speed limit.

      • GPS - got a speedo gps app on my phone which shows my (hopefully) accurate speed. My actual speedo is around 10% over so its a bit of mental arithmetic to get the right speed on the cruise control but its been working for me so far.

  • I pick my nose while driving and flick it out the window. Is that littering?

    • that's contamination

What's the personality of the truck drivers that overtake you going 100km/h in a 60km/h roadworks section on the highway? Not a big fan of them

    • +1

As a small kid, I always knew never to confront a bully. All through high school I learnt how to avoid them and survive.
This survival instinct has helped me manage my road relationship with the truck trailer drivers very well.

1: I always drive 5 KMPH above the speed limit.

Lol. Judging by the 'answers' - OP is incredibly risk-averse. Driving 5kmph over the speed limit is nowhere near actually indicative of a risk-taking personality. If it were 10kmph or 15kmph over, maybe. But to conflate that with someone who'd invest in Bitcoins…

  • What about always 10% over and higher if the conditions are right (e.g. well lit, night, no cars, clear vision of the road to spot any cameras)

    • as a 5% over speed limit person, I always managed to sneak higher wherever possible (Max 120 KMPH) on Flat long stretch of road with no pesky fixed or mobile cameras. Thanks to NSW government for marking all camera locations with sign posts.

    I'm a combination of 1,2 and 4

  • Combination of 1 and 4. mostly 1. I am a fairly aggressive driver because I cant stand retards and speed past them so i can get away from them, stupid of me to do that but they're either on their phone or driving all over the road, going way too slow, take 15 seconds to move when traffic lights are green. (profanity) SA mate, shittest place with shit drivers.

  • I just returned from a long 450 Kms drive

Where do you live? That is really not a long drive at all? I do that once a week for work, some areas of australia would have close to that distance between towns.

  • I usually set my cruise at 1-3km/h over the limit set by gps. Speedo will show 120 in a 110 zone.

Road rage doesn’t get you anywhere except an early heart attack, it’s not worth the effort. I refer to useless drivers as either muppet or clown, changes your attitude!
