[VIC] Free Coffee Next Week [6/8-10/8] @ 700 Collins St (Melb)

90

Holden are setting up shop again and giving away FREE Coffee.
Whats that Herman, did you say FREE Coffee. Ja.
This is the same as previous post (see: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/394133).
This time it is at 700 Collins St MELB. Just down the hill from Southern Cross Station.
If anything like this weeks deal, whilst the size of cup is limited, your choice of contents is not.

I was advised of this by the people at the desk today, but cannot find anything posted anywhere about this unfortunately. I will gladly update Monday morning when I get down there to confirm exact location/level, etc.
Whilst I am not linked with them, this is provided by Holden. Why?
They will give anybody a 'FREE' short ride(within a few KM's from CBD), one way, during business hours, depending on schedule, so you can experience their new cars. You do not get to drive!!!!

Nice, I will be down in Melbourne that day.

    • Glad to have you down(or up)
Don't have any coffee till then. It is not limited to one per person per day sort of thing. Grab a few each time if you need too……

  • these guys are funny, first giving away money now this lol

      They are desperate.
The sounds of crickets in their showrooms since the new "Commodore".
Time is ticking before they exit the market

I'll make sure to grab a coffee and say my goodbyes to holden

  • A cup of coffee will definitely convince me to buy some rebadged Korean junk.

  • Haven't looked how close it'll be to the fancy Mercedes cafe, but sounds like similar strategy.

    • It was just a popup thing at QV, so I expect to be the same at 700 Collins. Nothing fancy, a car, a little desk. At least it has been "they'd" by nice people…..

  • Free is free. Will have one thanx

    NO to holden cars.

  • I work in this building, so I think i'm going to feel a bit like the guy in this deal today:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/370651

  • In Bureau of Meteorology. Grab a Holden coffee cup from their desk and go order your coffee in the cafe. No surcharge on soy/almond

    • This could depend on who takes your order. I just got mine and was told you can pick coffee type, but anything else(milk type change, strength, flavour etc) are additional. This was not the case last week!
Best to just ask at the counter.

      • the barista was about to charge me for almond milk, but the lady (owner?) said thats free. strong is 50c extra though

  • Can confirm they're offering free coffee

  • Any idea at what time they start each day?

    • +1

Sorry, no, but I will more than likely drop in again tomorrow, so will ask then if that helps?

      • Thanks OP! 😊

        • Actually, I went over just now and they were open… Got a Mocha… 😊

        • @AbbyL: Hi, did you ask when they start,as I have been stuck out of the city and have not been able to get there today!

        • @humptygotup: I didn't but I can confirm that they were open when I went there just after 9 am…

I asked them for their free ride to Melbourne Central and they told me to catch a train… Lol…

They didn't seem too keen to give the coffee cup but I asked for it and made sure I got it anyway…

        • @AbbyL: amazing…..I heard they are not Holden employees, but a sales agency(or similar type thing). If Holden got wind of how this was being handled, I would like to think they would be putting pineapples somewhere the Sun don't shine.
So in other words restrict who you market the cars too? Great selling technique yes?
Then again, it could be different people I have dealt with, and they need a re-training or 10.

we went in today and the girl at the front staring at us as asked 'do you work in this building', 'no', 'this is not for you, BYE' and smiled. NICEEEE!
Apparently Holden from day 2 is only targeting people who work at the bureau of meteorology? ok then

    • +1

Well, when you pull your phone out and check work email, you 'ARE' working in 'that' building, so heads up to anyone else to say yes. If they are going to be like that, book in for a free 'lift' using fake details, and dont turn up. 2 can play that game!!!!!!

    • Yeah funnily enough went on Monday wearing casual clothes and no questions.
Actually have a shirt etc on and they asked me the same. I was like yep then they asked me for any id hahah.

Maybe they know they've been ozbargained.
