If you missed out on the $7 friends and family deal, you can try this one.
Couldn't find it on their website, but received this in my email:

As a Cine Buzz member you can bring a friend to see any movie at Event, Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle Cinemas for just $5 from 15th February to 31st March 2011.

This $5 discount ticket offer is available for redemption at the box office and online (a $1.10 booking fee applies for all online bookings) for sessions between 15th February and 31st March 2011.

This offer is only vailid after a full-priced ticket is purchased in the same transaction, to the same session as a CINE BUZZ member and is limited to 1 x $5 discount ticket per full priced ticket per CINE BUZZ member per transaction.

The $5 discount ticket will apply to the ticket of lesser value with the transaction. This offer is not valid for Gold Class sessions or for special events or with any other special offer unless specified by Event, Greater Union or Birch Carroll & Coyle Cinemas. The following surcharges will apply for VMAX & 3D sessions - $3 for Vmax, $3 for 3D and $6 for Vmax 3D.

This offer is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is exclusive to CINE BUZZ members on presentation and scanning of a Cinebuzz membership card or whilst logged in as a member online.

    I know it states that it's only valid with a full priced ticket however I just gave it a whirl as I have enough points for a free ticket, so I went one free loyalty ticket and one bring a friend ticket and the total came to $7.20 bargain :) I didn't complete the trasaction all the way through as I'm not sure when I want to go but it seemed like it was going to work, even though there was no full priced ticket purchased. I wouldn't mind betting it will work with the Fam&Friend tickets as well, the Event Website programmers are not clever enough to write it so it doesn't :D

        Well you'll have to give it a try first but it was definatly going to let me do it with the Free Loyalty ticket I don't imagine it would be any diff with the Fam&Friends

          Indeed the family and friends works with the $5 bring a friend. For some reason though, event is not efficient enough to honour their own deal, currently it is not set up to allow $5 bring a friend for 3D.

          I tried booking online with the Friends and Family ticket and the $5 bring a friend, and it doesn't seem to work. Oh well… worth a try anyway.

    dont buy online, it discusts me that Event charges $1.10 booking fee PER TICKET. Greedy scum of a cinema chain.

    Event website has now changed to get Bring a friend for $5 you have to enter the Promo code APRIL
