Breville the One° Precision Poacher for $129 on Amazon.

This the cheapest I've seen it. RRP is $199, but you can typically get it for around $165 (eg Billy Gyatts) to $180 (lots of places).

Not sure why Amazon has it so much cheaper currently, but seems like a pretty good discount to me :)

Cheers.

If you're looking at this, please consider the ANOVA precision sous vide cooker. Can do the same thing but so much more flexible

    • How flexible are we talking here ;)

      • That depends on you.

Agreed. I have an Anova Precision Cooker, and I love it. But this might just suit some needs better… eg tempering chocolate? ;)

    • Ok I just bought the Anova. Went on their website to suss it out and a 30% off code popped up so I managed to get the wifi version for $153.

Also available from HN for the same price and can collect if that is easier

  • Haven't really managed to get the Anova to cook eggs properly. I would probably not buy this though.

    $129 to boil eggs…

    Shame on you all !!!

    • If you are the type to buy your eggs from David Jones World Food Court then this egg-cooker is cheap in comparison…

However, I use the Breville Eggspert myself and am very happy with it.

Also, interestingly… After watching a review I realised why some glass pots have those holes in them… it's to stick in temperature probes… I always thought they were to let some steam out or the pot would explode!

      • DJs food hall actually not that expensive after 20% discounted gift cards…

    Poacher

    It's a steal

  • No real ozbargainer would buy one of these when a saucepan and water can do the job :D

    • ahhh - there's the rub. I agree with your for boiled eggs but I'm still looking for the best reliable way of poaching an egg.

      • just drop the egg into boiling water using a large spoon/ladle. Or if you want to go fancy get a pan with a poaching insert.

      • Fresh eggs and some technique - pretty reliable.

        • If I do the water technique I get egg white everywhere and with the silicon poachers I get a spot just under the yolk which doesn’t cook properly.

      • Want to know how I made mine this morning?
Cling film… a drop of olive oil so the egg doesn't stick. Chuck in cracked egg, tie the cling film up.
        4min in water.
        Perfect poached eggs.

  • These from K-Mart for $15.00 Work Great
