Asus AMD Radeon RX 570 Expedition OC 4GB Graphics Card $220 Shipped from Tech Mall eBay

1780
PINGED

The lowest historical price seen on Ozbargain for a Radeon RX 570. The previous best price was $232.75.

If you've been holding out on a video card for 3-4 years but you still have a very tight budget, this card performs close to a GTX 1060 (either 3GB or 6GB, each costing either $280~350) only losing out by a very close margin of 10 to 15 percent… but with a price differential this large, this is arguably far better value.

I've benchmarked the card against a factory OC MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming-X and you can see the results here in DX11 and DirectX 12 here

How does this go with an ancient Phenom II 955 as a temporary upgrade…CPU bottlenecks?

Eventually build it into a Ryzen 5 1600 system with this one..or is it(Rx 570) too weak for that?

          @alterego13:

As you'd expect, Phenom 2 is absolutely ancient, it barely meets requirements of modern games now.

RX 570 with a Ryzen is fine, but the R5 1600 is actually pretty capable and IMO can handle even enthusiast level-cards, bar the 1080 Ti in SLI or Pascal Titan.

Whether the rig will be bottlenecked though is not a simple "yes or no" answer, depends on a lot of factors. Most importantly being the resolution you play at. In some situations the performance of the CPU doesn't matter so much even at high resolutions, it's all down to the GPU.

Jesus!! Thanks for adding to confusion! :P
Already ummmin and arr..ing if I need to upgrade!

Tossing up getting a refurb i5 47xx or i7 3770 system (dell/hp/lenovo, etc) and adding a 1050ti lp and ram (if needed)..pushing the cost circa $500

or Building a new one with Ryzen5 taking advantage of eBay sales and re-using case/PSU costing circa $700

Or just adding more ram and upgrading GPU to current setup!

          decisions…decisions!

  • So is this the expedition version or the strix version? Based on comments near the top it sounds like people got the strix card, but they also list this on their ebay store for $325 so seems strange they would send a strix.

They shipped the expedition to me.

UPDATE ON CODES - The codes are available on request via eBay seller messaging. The code should look like D0X0JBS0D9NV0EF, note it starts with a letter, seller by mistake appended on a string of numbers at the beginning.

  • They sent me an already redeemed code according to AMD support…..

  • Hi Guys , Has anyone had any issues with the PC shutting down with this card when starting games. My sons setup is currently a GTX295 with an i7 2600 16gb Gskill ram. 750W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU. The GTX295 performs and works fine and does not shut the pc down when gaming (just outdated DX)
Once I install the RX 570 and go to start a game the games load but then at random the PC just reboots. I have checked the temp on the card just begore shutdown and its never over 60 degrees. I am using the 8 pin PSU cable and the PSU is not a chepie. Its only about 3 years old and he hasnt used it all that much in that time .. Could I possibly have a faulty card ? He plays Ark , Fortnite and PUBg . They all cause this reboot with the RX570. With the GTX295 no problem but cant play PUbg bcos of DX.

Double check all power connectors (tighten) and make sure the card is actually receiving power from PSU

Check for any strange temperature readings using MSI afterburner

Update the motherboard driver and flash BIOS

If can't solve it return the card for refund using your eBay Plus / Paypal Paid return perk

    • Yep, mine is having issues too, worked fine for a day, then the entire thing just stopped working, showing as an error on the mobo, doesn't even start up at all (despite power LED showing)

      • Sent mine back and they refunded me. No more stock they said . Lets go shopping again . Anymore good deals around ?

  • wrong post

  • For people that ordered this card - did it come with an 8 pin PCIe power adapter? I didn't get one and want to check. MIght need to go this off ebay otherwise.

    • You will need 8pin power connector.
