Where Are The Xiaomi Bargains??

Ladies and gents,

Whatever happened to all the Xiaomi smart gear bargains? They used to be daily from GearBest a few months ago, and lately it's just been the robo-vac.

I have my whole house decked out with Xiaomi sensors and buttons and lights controlled via home-assistant, and have been looking for more, but having been too spoilt by the ozbargain bargains that I now can not justify paying $17+ for a simple button switch that used to cost $5!!!

Does anyone know how to organise discount codes? Are there reps for GearBest on OzBargain?

Any advice is welcomed.

    Harder to get Xiaomi bargains these days unfortunately. Their wholesale price has increased and Gearbest have moved away from their "sell at a loss to get customers" sales model.

    If you want this stuff cheap you gotta work for it now. Cheapest regular pricing seems to be on aliexpress.

    Easiest way I found to get this stuff cheap is add everything you want to notifyprice.com for each of the big sites and aliexpress. Its still not as cheap as the deals we used to get on gearbest :(

    It almost like Xiaomi have sucked people into a closed ecosystem and then jacked up all their prices… who does that remind you of….

          Not possible. Throw the gateway in the trash and use something like zigbee2mqtt if you wanna escape the ecosystem but keep all your other devices.

    If you want Xiaomi bargains - go to Xiaomiland!
    In China at the moment and went to a Mi store. Walked away with lots of Xiaomi treasures at a pretty good price. Was great to see a whole range of their stuff first hand and fiddle with it a bit.
    The stores are pretty popular, on the Sunday arvo they have a system that only lets you in when some have left the store to keep from overcrowding.
