type c to type c… not often we see deals on these
    thanks :)

How safe are these to use? It's so frustrating with USB C specifications and standards, don't know which cables or chargers you can trust.

    • Go for USB IF Certified, those cables are safe.

  • will this work as a backup to charge MacBook Pro 2018?

    • on paper yes, up to 100W (assuming MDP is 100W or under)
I make no assertions re: the quality of the cable or its actual adherence to paper specs

    • -3

      For 13 inch, yes.

For 15 inch, any third party usbc cable will drop to 60W and the AC of MBP 18 inch is 87W.

According to Apple, you can only charge your mbp with highe wattager AC charger. AC chargers with lower Wattage than standard ones will have negative impact on you battery.

  • Thanks OP, might actually use this one 😆

Suspiciously cheap for a cable capable of 5A

    • Yeah i agree. Also doesn't mention anything about emarker, which should be required in a cable like this.

      • E-Marker is 100% mandatory for all C-C cables to do USB 3, and for USB 2 cables to deliver over 3A.

We can therefore assume it's there by definition.

does anyone see a sad face in the thumbnail?

LOL I do now. Kind of!

  • If it's too good to be true….

Regular price is over $10. People can pay that if they think it's cheap.

  • Ordered 4. Thanks.

  • Thanks

  • let's hope for the best here. Would love a second macbook chord

  • Ahhh, the cable of the Future. Let's see how we go. Thanks OP!

what if i connect two android phones with this cable? would one charge the other? can one view the files on the other?

    • The pixel 2xl supports charging other phones via is USB-C connection. I haven't tried file discovery

  • The coupon code "FREE0810ALL01" is not valid." ?

      You need to login first.

  • Tempted to get one. I do have ZY1276 Plus to test it, but I only have a 87W charger. Pity it is only USB 3.1 gen 1.
It will be my first non-USB-IF certified USB 3.1 USB-C cable though… maybe not worth the hassle.

    • Really doubt this will provide over 60w

  • Anyone else also cannot sign in? Error message [Invalid value of "12" provided for the regionId field.]

  • I have a Macbook pro 13 and a Galaxy S9
should provide me enough reason to order
But I still dont figure out why I am ordering
Still ordered 1 (following the OZB spirit) haha….

  • 1:44am (Coupon code is not valid) expired?

    • Nope. I just forgot to sign in. Ordered 3. Thanks OP.

  • Great, needed one of these to connect my smartphone to my Nintendo Switch.

    • What do you do when connecting the Nintendo switch to your phone ?

      • +2

Using NXLoader to deliver payloads for running custom firmwares and other tools through a hardware exploit.

        • I'm waiting for a Chinese knock off of the usb dongle from SX OS ;)

        • @idonotknowwhy: And you're worried about plugging this cheap USB-C cable into your Switch?

        • @Nomadesque: good point. I'll stick with usb otg + usb-a -> usb-c

        • @idonotknowwhy: I'd be doing that as well if the OTG cable I have wasn't USB-C male to micro USB male for some reason.

    • +1

Have you researched the third party usb-c accessories frying an internal component (bricking the device)?

      Does this cable seem safe?

      • I've heard reports about third party charging docks doing that. I won't be using this one for charging at high speeds.

        • If I plug this into my usb-c phone for the sx payload, it's not going to automatically charge at high speed right?

        • @idonotknowwhy: Hard to know without testing. I've plugged my USB-A to USB-C phone charging/data cable into my laptop to run FG exploits and haven't experienced any issues.

One way to see how quickly your Switch is charging is to use Hekate - CTCaer mod as a payload and the charging rate will be displayed at the bottom when it's plugged in. Through my computer this produces a trickle charge of about 50mA.

I believe that the Switch won't fast charge if it's in RCM mode so I wouldn't expect your phone to overload it.

  • Says one per customer but bought two for $4.80 :)

  • I thought brand mattered with these cords e.g. blitzwolf.

Double standards. They do when people are in the mood.

  • showing up as $9.52 for me has the deal ended?

/edit Just saw ^^ must sign in trying now

  • The best cables can do audio, video and charging. Hope this works.

  • Not worth the risk when connecting to anything of value…. would rather pay just a few bucks more to get something I know won't destroy my device.

I love a good deal, but knowing when to spend a few more dollars is just as important as saving a few dollars.

    • What would make this destroy your device?

  • anybody got theirs yet?

    • No not yet, got shipping notification yesterday

      • wait they only just shipped it out???

        • seems that way

        • +1

I received my shipping confirmation on August 15th. Tracking number seems to be bogus as I've come to expect from China sellers. Says 7-20 business days which means mid September. I wouldn't be too concerned that is hasn't arrived yet. I'd wait until at least October before chasing it up.

    • Got mine Friday.

Got this cable yesterday and it is thin and no brand. Compaired with Tronsmart typec-typec cable. Tronsmart gave 3A to my phone and this cable was only 1.8A. The description on web site is
    "
    High Speed Data Transmission

Delivers Rapid speed of up to 5Gbps, you can transfer large files in seconds.
    "
But it actually is a usb 2.0 cable which can be only 480M. That means it a fake 5Gbps cable.

Finally I noticed that some details

    Cable Specification 1P+3C+AL, OD=4.0

That means 1 power line, 3 data line (usb dp,dm,cc) and shield. This is a typical usb2.0 type c cable with cc line for PD.

I gave it one star comment but blocked by zapal. Shame.

My suggestion: To buy Tronsmart or Blitzwolf to avoid the rubbish.

  • hmmm should we all do paypal reversals as item clearly isnt what they are advertising

Just an update from me on this deal.

As the 20 day delivery time frame had lapsed and the tracking number I was provided with didn't work (i.e. was fake), I opened a support ticket through Zapals' website and got the boilerplate "please wait a bit longer" response. Now the order has disappeared from the history page in my account on the Zapals website. This seems to be common practice based on other people reporting the same thing in other deals. Very strange behaviour from Zapals considering that evidence for the order still exists in the form of emails that were sent during the order process and my PayPal transaction history.

I've now escalated a claim to PayPal and am awaiting a resolution. Only $2.40 but it's the principle.
