PINGED

My old switch blew up recently and I just received this to replace it. Very happy with it so far, particularly like that it includes brackets to make it rack mountable.

16 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports. Equipped with 8 PoE+ supported ports.

Can't ever say no to PoE!!

Unless you have an Asus RoG board in which case you are out of luck .

  • Had this for about 6 months now running 8x PoE cameras and most other ports full, and haven't had any issues at all.

I will say though that it isn't passively cooled and the small fan is quite noisy - wouldn't suggest use near a bedroom etc.

    • Yeah we had an issue with a noisy switch at work. Pulled out the fan and everything is awesome! We're running these in a VERY empty rack, so heat really isn't an issue for us.

Not this tp-link model either. Was something else, so not directly comparable.

    • Yeah i had to disconnect the fan, price is great i bought around 180 2 years ago and i thought it was a bargain

  • The 24port version TL-SG1024de seems even cheaper on eBay. Am I missing something?

      No poe on that one

  • Anyone able to list some advantages of buying this say over a used cisco 3560g with POE from ebay? Warranty is one thing that comes to mind.

    • full on enterprise cisco switch might be a bit loud. I got a 24 port HP Switch for free, and its pretty damn loud specially on start up. I still went for the $15 8 Port Dlink switches with 4 PoE from officeworks recently.. fanless :)

  • Anyone knows if this supports PPPoE and IPoE if this is connected to a NBN FttP NTD?
