i know what my bets on

  • Probably getting rid of as the trend now is towards dual camera lens

    • Completely different application.

I think this is really only good for checking currencies. It would be a pain to use for anything that wasn't a piece of paper.

      • I think it was more saying that if you put this on a dual camera it likely won't work at all (depending on how the cameras are configured of course)

        • Anyone else have thoughts on this? We are moving to dual cameras on most phones. I haven't got one but would it not be possible to just configure phone to use one of the cameras and thus still use this? Particularly, something like iPhone 8 or X (again, I don't have one).

        • I've been using a macro lens on a clip on, on a Samsung Note 8. Works fine.

  • “Code not valid”.
I think this might have expired.

    • Gotta log in mate, then it works.

    Doesn't fit all phones?
My MotoG 5+ has the camera in different position to the one in the photo so I guess it wont work?

    • +2

It might, as long as the lens fits snugly over the phone camera. Provided it can reach the lens, it should work.
I have a case on my phone and the phone's lens is now recessed in the case, so it won't work on mine unless I remove the case. That's what I've found with my other phone lenses, which I don't use for that reason.

    Got it :)

      hahaha… me too :).

For $3 its worth the gamble. It 'could' be good. I doubt it, but if it is as good as the example pictures show (hahaha) then its $3 well spent ;).

I'm planning on putting it on the kids iPad, so then they can look at things around the house with their own microscope.

I'm a high school science teacher - <$4 for an easy to use microscope I can project onto a screen via airplay - worth a shot!

I'm still amazed they can build something like this and ship it across the world for three bucks.

My understanding is that in China it is possible to pay shipping per pallet.

Could come in handy for d!ck pics.

  • I'm seeing this error when the code is dropped into shopping basket : The coupon code "FREE0812ALL01" is not valid.

    • You have to sign in/sign up first mate, I saw that message too until I logged in.

  • Should be good for checking SMD solder joints/electronics

  • Apparently the barrel in these lenses takes out a good chuck of the viewing angle.
