Batch tested a whole bunch of postcodes - seems $8.95 is standard. $10.95 if you want "insured" delivery.

      • Cheers, past prices are located here for the WD Green also.

Got a 240GB SSD for ~$50 so this deal pales in comparison but then again that was the best deal I've seen.

  • Can it be used in Macbook duo core 2011?

    • Yes. Assuming it isn't a Macbook Air.

If you have an eBay Plus subscription (or free 1-month trial) then you can get this for $32.25 Delivered with the code PENNY5.

  • Shopping express is part of PHASER sale tomorrow (ebay). Would suggest buying from the ebay store futu_online or shoppingexpressoutlet

they do also price jack whenever there's a 20%, but that's so that they do not undercut their main website & cannibalize their own store.

Sorry did I just read how you justified price jacking? It's never okay to con people like this.
If they don't want to "cannabilize their own store" they shouldn't participate in the first place.
Or you know, the website can actually do sales from time to time?

      • The margins on computer parts are razor thin, especially core parts (see Linus Sebastians reply in this forum thread). .Also see quora answer.

Then there's also distributor margins as well, which might increase the cost price of your stock even further past the MSRP. Synnex for example, imports goods from overseas and then they sell their stock to stores such as PCCG, MSY, UMART and EB Games. Their margins depend on what the sales volume is — higher the sales volume the lower the margins.

You might argue "What's that got to do with me? I'm an ozbargainer and I demand the 20% discount you advertised on eBay or I'll call the ACCC for false advertising"

To which the realistic answer is: it's not possible — the profit margins of each product differ significantly from category to category.

You can't have a true 20 percent discount of your current prices because that would drive your prices down to a point where you're losing money on each item sold. The most feasible thing you can do is to offer close to 20% on high margin products (think printer toners, laptop replacement parts and batteries) but on low margin items (like DDR RAM) you might not be able to offer any discounts at all.

To explain further on what I think this pricejacking is neccessary: this is actually a problem with how eBay handles promotions. It's ebay's fault.

It doesn't allow flexibility for merchants to provide different levels of discounts for different products.

For example I ran a web store and normally this is what I'd send to my customers:

          20% off Ozbargain Shirts
          20% off Ozbargain bags
          15% off Xiaomi Gadgets
          10% off Ozbargain Eneloops
          5% off Woolworths Gift cards

But If I ran an eBay store, and particapted in a Sitewide 20% promotion, ebay is essentially telling my customers that I have 20% off every category (Which is not what I'd wanted). So the only thing I can do is to remove Xiaomi, Eneloops and gift cards from the promotion.

This is what MYER does. Remove stock that would sell for too cheap, but unfortunately I would lose out on a lot of sales, plus I'm paying eBay to take part in the promotion. Or I can price jack on the last 3 categories and take advantage of the promo.

  • Just be aware that a cheaper SSD may not last as long if it is a DRAM-less SSDs and be slower than one with

Just for speeding up a pc these are fine but don't expect it to last as long as others
