Group buying deals are not supposed to be posted until they are active. As of 19:15, this is still not active!

    • Says deal is on now.

for all the troubles with these group buy deals… I'd rather risk $20 on a crap meal than $2K on a crap holiday

I am pretty sure that Mission Beach was one of the worst hit places from tropical cyclone Yasi. It is probably gonna look a little different than the pictures suggest.

i'd rather just fly to phuket or bali for that sort of price

    • Comparing mission beach to phuket or bali?

Considering what's included, $333 per person is good value if that's the kind of getaway you're after.

But if annoying tourists is your cup of tea, you're welcome to go to Bali/Phuket instead. All depends on what type of getaway you're after. This deal is possibly more attractive to central/north qld residents—don't have to book air fares.

I'll positive it just to support the devastated local economy there, plus the fact it's a decent deal.

  • I had a look at the resort's website and seems like you can get deals as good or better than that directly from them. Also looked on wotif and the room always works out at less than $90 per person anyway. If you get a 2 bedroom apartment (and its easier to get 2 couples than 3 in my opinion) then its about $80 per person.

I can't see the deal here and how they claim that its so cheap…. especially after just being hit by the cyclone

    • What do you get for $90 per person? Are you comparing apples with apples?
