      bargain blindness affects most ozbargainers

      • +2

I'd say bargain blindess affects the non-ozbargainers. We here woke folk are the enlightened ones.

        • Are you telling me you only ever buy stuff that you really need? Eg No impulse buying of bargains or buying stuff because you want it?

Or, in other words, being on OzBargain has not changed your spending habits?

  • Western Digital WD Green 120GB 2.5" SATA Internal Solid State Drive SSD 545MB/s

    • Dont trust the system.. There is Goverment everywhere.

  • Green is the new blue?

    • Weren't they doing it the other away round

      • +3

        Blue new the is green?

        • "Now, buyers will need to distinguish between "5,400-RPM-class" and "7,200-RPM-class" drives under the Blue umbrella for some capacities."

Goes both ways i guess lol

    OPs profile photo is green

which one is better? Green WD or Kingston A400?

Postage cost of $19.95 completely kills the deal. Total price = $48.45 = not a bargain. These SSDs are tiny - there's no way they cost $20 to ship. You could probably get them out at the letter rate, even.

That's why it says [eBay Plus] in title… coz shipping is free for those that have it.

      • that's why the price is low, seller earns the money from ebay (ebay pay for the shipping).

      • But C&C is free, right?

    • +5

its the new eBay plus scam run by vendors.

    • +2

Fair call. I had my A400 shipped in an envelope with $2 worth of stamps on it.

  • How do I work this as an external drive as I don't have space for it inside my tower? Sorry noob question.

    • +1

Assuming you'd want to interface over USB - you'd want to buy a cheap 2.5 inch sata enclosure.

      • Thanks I'll look into it.

    • +1

You're wasting your money if you put this in as an external drive unless you get a USB 3.0 enclosure and use it in a USB 3.0 port.

      • Not sure if mobo is 3.0. I'll double check. Thanks for the info.

Look for the blue ports :)

Edit: also, aren't you a lucky ducky?

        • @The Gent: Or red. Or orange. Or green. The standard exists for the tongue to be blue (Pantone 300C to be exact) but it's not always followed.

        • +1

@potplanty: Well, true, but blue definitely = USB 3 and has been the case for most of what I've seen.

        • @The Gent: Yeah I usually find the specially coloured ones on ports that claim to support certain charging/interface protocols.

        • @The Gent: same, blue is usb 3.0, its a widely follower trend

    • You'll want one of these!

  • What's the difference between PC SSD and SATA SSD beside the storage capacity with these WDs?

I'm basically wanting to use it as an external HHD to my WII U, PS4 and offline storage of photos.

    • they are the same. if you want to use as an external hard drive for PS4, it has to be at least 250gb.

i think its not free shipping any more for ebay plus on this item

These are the worst mainstream SSD on the market.
Spend the extra few bucks on any other SSD, the Kingston A400 is still the best ultra budget SSD in my books…
If you do buy one, make sure you install the WD software and update the firmware, there is a nice performance increase in it for you.

    • Sup Dan. Good to see you venturing out of OCAU into the public domain ;)

  • Is this ebayplus or not?
I am getting charged for the postage

    • And you are on ebay plus?
      Ow wow, screw ebay lol.

      • The 240gb went up $5 and the shipping, which was previously listed as $20 but free for Plus, is now $14.95 for Plus users…

        • I'm glad I'd cancelled my scamplus before promotion end.
