Shame its cool white only, cant stand cold lights in homes :/

    • for kitchen, bathroom & porch they're great, but yeah way to bright for the rest.

Me too - makes the house look like a science lab or dentist. Too clinical and uninviting.

Plus I think warm white light is less harsh to eyes - they say warmer light is more conducive to relax/sleep than whiter light.

Even for kitchen/bathroom I prefer warm white (but on the lighter side) - ie 4000K. Anything higher like 6000k is awful. So these may be okay - ie called 'cool white' but actually it's more a brilliant/neutral white, rather than overly orange light. Won't be glary cold light like 6000k

Agreed. cool white is definitely too sterile. I googled the colour chart and 4000K seem's to be quite neutral sitting in between warm white and cool white.

  • How much were the Philips ones in the photo out of curiosity?

    • No idea. I couldn't find the section for it so i am assuming it's old stock.

I think it work out about $13 each

  • stupid Qn - is the cable for each individual light or is it single cable connecting all together?

    • +1

it is for each individual down light

  • I'm not a big fan of Mirabella light globes - I find they have horrible colour rendering…

  • If you can't decide on the light colour, there are tri-colour bulbs available on the market like this one.

You can switch to 3 different colours with the flick of a switch.

I just got some of these below as I needed 700mm cut out size.
