Just saw a bunch of black Wii Fit U fit meters at JB Hi Fi Southland on clearance for $1. Possibly other stores too, but the online price is currently still the RRP of $27.99.
The device is basically a pedometer that connects to the Wii U version of Wii Fit. You can use it to keep track of your walking or running routines, set goals, play games and achieve virtual rewards for your progress.

  Pro tip: If you ever downloaded the trial version of Wii Fit U on your console you can actually use the fit meter to unlock the full version of Wii Fit U for no extra charge.
