  • nice price, as per the usual :)

does anybody find that the rubber earpieces on these have a poor fit? (I actually have the 220's - think they're the same?) My older ue100's though were fine?
The poor fit is that the rubber is too stiff so they fall out easy.

    • Rubber softens over time. Depends on ear shape i guess, mine fit really good. Perfect on public transport.

      Good deal on this btw.

    • +1

I have the UE220s, first impression of the rubber tips was way too stiff/hard.

    • I found my 220's too hard and too big; even with the smallest size available.

    • mine fits nicely. very comfortable. IMO i dont find the tips to be any different to my cx300s.

    • Yea I find that the UE100's fit better and more snugly than the 220s'.

The 220's keep slipping out of my ears.

  • Why don't they work with iPod nanos ? (3rd gen)

    • +2

its not nano - its shuffle - the shuffle has no buttons so needs buttons on the headphones to work properly.

  • I keep getting this error with Paypal.

Any idea why? I'm trying to ship to my home address.

    • you forgot to add your postcode?

    • Address must match your Paypal address.

    • To buy from LTS you need a verified Paypal Account

  • why is this a deal? it appears to be their normal price

    • I'm pretty sure it's a fair bit cheaper than the normal price.

  • Purchased these about 70 minutes ago with no problems.

Since you can barely get one for that price, two seems to be very good value.

      from cnet:

The good: The reasonably priced Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 earphones offer good sound quality and include a protective carrying case. One version includes an inline mic and call answer button for use with music phones.

The bad: The MetroFi 170 earphones won't be comfortable for all users; the earpieces have a bit of a cheap, plastic feel; and the cable is thin and tangle-prone.

The bottom line: The Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 earphones are a solid step up from stock earbuds, offering improved sound quality and helpful features for not a lot of money. Be wary of fit and durability issues, though.

so in a couple of months time it will be in the rubbish bin. spend your money on something better.

just take care of them. if they last a year combined, il be happy. its quality sound for the price you pay.

  • Seeing as these are budget earphones also, how do these compare with the Sennheiser CX300-II?

    • +1

i would say the Sennheisers are better

      i have a sennheiser CX500, and 3 spare CX300(from mymemory)
my sennheisers are the best earphones i have used/owned so far

      My opinion only

    • i expected my sennheiser cx300 II to be a lot better, but they arent. The UE 170 actually has a less thumpy bass, but is a little less crisp in the high end. very similar though. I didnt have an issue with the UE tip, but sennheiser ear tips may be suitable for more people. I grab whichever comes to hand first before my morning commute.

      • +2

Well if she buys 13 of them she can put the headphones in one of them. :-)

    Any chance of the 170VIs???

i got the 220's last sale and am severely disappointed with the sound quality. They just have a ton of bass and nothing else..

    • Same, I can't believe people like Logitech UE220s.. saying they're better than Sennheiser CX300s, which are known for overpowering bass (you'll only feel it for the first time you use them, but you'll get used to them and love it afterwards) but at least they're not trading clarity like the Logitech UE220s are.

      • But for $20 you cant really do better.

Sennheiser CX300 for less than $20

        • UE220s were $29 for me.
          CX300s were just under $20.
If you don't mind pink, they're still available here

        • i think i payed $110 for the UE220's. I agree the bass in the CX300 was better. but the sounds were a lot clearer in the UE220's, I could hear new sounds/instruments in music i've listed to hundreds of time before. the only downside was I thought I'd test out how loud they could go and chucked on some a state of trance and pumped it on my iphone… one sides been fuzzy since then =(

  • I think this deal has been going on for a while, since the last logitech sale. Bought mine a week or so ago, nevertheless they work great and I don't have issues with cable tangling. I had a pair of these last year and they're still going strong, just got another pair for my sisters

  • Do these have any keys or controls on them? Makes it a bit easier when you dont have to take your phone out each time to change a song. Can someone tell me if one side is longer than the other. I really dont like the around your neck style.

    • No fairly certainly if the model has VI after it then they have the mic and controls (These don't).

      ie 220vi and 500vi

      • if the model has VI after it then they have the mic and controls

        yep that's correct

  • How about the length of the two sides?

    • +1

      Y cord

  • good for gym or soothing but cx300 has better sound
