I highly recommend the HPH-300 headphones especially at the price of $149.

Amazing sound and great comfort overall.
However, the wireless music touch controls could be a bit better.

    • Totally agreed, bought them during previous sale and very happy with them.

  • how to add it to CART? am unable to add it. it is taking me to new page and cart is empty!

      1. There is an "Add To Cart" button on the top right of the product page - screenshot below:
        https://imgur.com/pJtyCpH

      2. Click on "Yamaha Free Shipping" on the lightbox window - Screenshot below:

      3. Enjoy your headphones!

      • yes, tried all these, tired in Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari and in Mobile. nothing works

        • Worked fine for me. When you click add to cart it brings up a popup about where do you want to buy them from where you can choose yamaha online store with free shipping. Is your computer blocking popups or something like that. Only thing I can think of that might be stopping it.

        • I've had to do step 1-2 twice, using Chrome. Suggest you re-try…

        • Thanks for providing this info here. Our technical team is addressing the issue - it looks like it is not working on the first try, but will work on 2nd try.

Apologies for this and we will update once this issue is sorted.

        • @Skurfer: Couldn't get it to work until I saw your comment about blocking popups. Turned it off for that page and it worked fine. Thanks

  • I bought the EPH-W53 last time. They are good value for $99, have good battery life and sound quality. I use them 5 days a week for 1 hr commute each way.

They can be a bit fiddly to get a good fit and occasionally when used for a while, eg. 2+ hour flights, the ear stabilisers can become uncomfortable. The cable also tends to microphone (transmit noise to the ear piece) when rubbing against shirt collars, which is only an occasional annoyance.

    • Have you tried any other Bluetooth earbuds? Ie. Anker slim, jaybird x3 etc for comparison?

Also what's the lag like on this?

  • Anyone got a place where these are reviewed ?

    Hi,

Regarding HPH-W300 Bluetooth Headphone, the headphone cap is taken off easily. Very hard to put it back to the position.
Yamaha does not refund or replace it. Consider it before purchasing it.

    • Indeed, I found this out the hard way. Managed to lose one of the soft earcups not two days after receiving these headphones from this deal (presumably on my daily train commute).

I have contacted Yamaha and am interested to see their reply. Seems like a major defect for these earcups to be be so fragile and easily removed/lost.

You mention Yamaha "does not refund or replace it". That's not good enough - under ACL they must at least have spare parts and repair facilities available for a reasonable period after purchase.

      • Just as an update, I ended up having a good experience with the Support Team. Had a replacement set of headphones sent out once I returned mine, with little fuss.

  • Had been waiting for ages for Sony WH-1000XM2,since missing out on JB deal. Bite the dust on this. Thanks

I bought the HPH-W300 last time, and am pissed off that I did so. The sound is fine, but the controls are beyond appalling, and the alerts do not play, although the podcast/music ducks. I'd stay well away.

I have emailed Yamaha about these issues and they have not bothered with a reply.

Thanks for putting this up. Was about to buy 3 sets of the HPH-W300 for upcoming holidays and the fact they don't bother replying regarding issues is just a turnoff. Hopefully the associate can resolve this for you

Ain't nobody at Yamaha who gives a rats, it seems. Times like this I wish I was on FB/Twitter so I could give them a serve.

Ended up getting Sennheiser instead. Customer service is very good and Australian. Even rang them to have them explain the functions of my headphones and how warranty works. I'll steer clear of all Yamaha products from now on. I wish you luck my friend

I'm tempted to get the W300, but half minded, especially reading about the ear pad coming off problem and just saw this review: http://miccullen.com.au/2018/05/technology/yamaha-hph-w300-h…

    Anyone got theirs to comment?

  • Excellent headphones! Had 3 different brands before but sound quality of this one outperformed easily. Controls a bit fiddly but quality is exceptional.
