FWIW the other options I considered were:

• Very intriguing shaver/trimmer hybrid "One Blade" Philips QP2520 currently $49 at Amazon - not generally retailed in AU but reviews very well on Amazon UK
• Braun BT5070 currently $51.80 at Amazon - the reviews on the OP deal slightly edged this one out, but still very good
• A cheapy is the Philips Series 3000 Trimmer currently $34.99 at Amazon - no reviews yet but the older model reviewed ok

I'm sure there are other good ones too, I didnt spend that long researching

  Looks like you've done the research. Grabbed one. Like that it will hold enough charge for a 3 month trip OS and is waterproof/washable.
