      thx bought 1. The cheapest price for Braun series 5 is double so guess I can live even if this is slightly inferior quality.

        No worries, it ranked higher than the Braun in the review but not sure about build.

    Worse. I've had this one for about 6 months (RRP is a joke) and honestly it hasn't performed well. It has to sit in a dock, and cant be charged directly. (Bad for traveling) It also doesn't have a movable head.

    Just picked up a Braun 5, and its already much better with its moveable head, and simply charges by plug in the bottom. Cleaning is much easier and it feels more well built with rubberised grip, compared to shiny plastic.

  I know this has a pop up trimmer but can anybody confirm if you can adjust the closeness of the shave so there's a little stubble (1-2 days growth)? Or would I need a beard trimmer? Never owned an electric so am completely clueless.

    In my experience the pop up trimmers don't do very much. Keen to hear if anyone has found a shaver with an effective pop up trimmer.

      Braun series 3 popup trimmer was really good I thought. Used it much more than the main head

        I have a braun series 3 and the popup trimmer does not seem to do anything. Maybe I am doing it wrong? Do you run the motor while using the trimmer? Do you use the trimmer at a right angle (i.e. just like using the main head) or instead hold the body so that the top side of the blade is flat against your face?

    I have this model and it is a good shaver. Like most men’s shavers, the pop up trimmer can not have its height adjusted.

  To me, I feel the difference is massive in build quality. I much prefer the ES-LT71-S as it gives a much cleaner shave. But that's just my opinion

  Thanks OP, Got one, Ive had one of these for about 3 years. Its good for the price. Mine is due for new foils and blades, which are about $59 from shavershop ebay on the same code. I figure for $20 more its worth it just to get a new one. The battery also seems a bit worn out…
