Did anyone buy this vodafone sim card deal?
My claim was rejected (along with a bunch of others, I guess). Shopback acknowledged that they had issues validating the claims … asked for further proof, etc … but they seem to keep coming back asking for more information. It's getting a little ridiculous for a $15 claim.
I'm creating this thread, so everyone that had issues can comment and turn the heat up on shopback for posting a dodgy deal and giving people the run around.
They pushed the confirmation date for mine by another 60 days (so now it is 150 days after date of purchase). I think mine will get rejected too.

I do think up to 14 days for balance transfer to bank is a bit dodgy
getting ridiculous how long these take.
THey are advertising these offers on there site also, and via email.

My purchase was part of the $22 cashback offer and was confirmed after 90 days.
Hope they can sort out the issues for those experiencing problems. It'll say a lot about the type of company they are.

Stick with cash rewards for sure. I made 10 purchases on Groupon in one night and only 4 were tracked. Made missing claims with ShopBack and submitted proof of purchase. Just got the results and they said Groupon denied it.
All the emails from shopback refer to "Merchant Network". Anyone know what that means and how the whole cashback system works?
I assume there's a middle man who validates the claim and pays the money to shopback.
Would be interesting to know the name of the "merchant network" that shopback uses vs cashrewards vs qantasmall vs other similar website…
Cashback providers are using affiliate networks to track your sale and earn commission. They give a portion of the commission earned to you.
When Shopback refer to Merchant Network they're referring to the affiliate network the merchant is using. Some stores will only use one affiliate network while others will have 2 or 3. Some networks track better than others.
As for Shopback itself. They're a Singaporean company so the customer service is offshored by the Australian skeleton crew. That's why their response times can be crap or slow.
What are the names of some merchant networks?
Googling affiliate networks will tell you. Some like AliExpress have their own inhouse network while others use services like CommissionFactory.
I've received my money for a transaction processed through them (not this deal).

Going to give some clarification on the issues we are experiencing with Vodafone. Understandable it might be a pain to deal with, but bear with us as we sort out everything.
1. Cashback rejections
Glitches in the merchant's network has meant that we're seeing orders being incorrectly rejected (even if your SIM was activated already). We have already contacted those affected and those would have only needed to forward over proof of activation to have their cashback approved.
2. Cashback approval dates being extended
Vodafone extended their validation period which means cashback might take a bit longer to get approved. We're still negotiating with them to have this validation period shortened.

I would suggest kicking merchants off your website for doing this. It treats their customers and shopback customers with contempt. Just look at how damaging it's been to shopback's brand and credibility with consumers.
