Trustpilot is paid-for shit. It's the Yelp of online businesses. Paid reviews, paid to remove bad reviews etc. If your website displays the Trustpilot logo (especially as prominently as Zoolz do) I automatically assume you're shit until proven otherwise.

    • They are ex-cerpts though….

      • What's a cerpt?

        • a passage (to a better place)

small text *** by lifetime we assume you will only live another 3-4 years **** :P

When we say lifetime, that’s exactly what we mean.

OK; when I see an interesting deal promising a lifetime deal, I like to see what "lifetime" means. For example, how old is the company? "Lifetime" for a very new company may mean as much as a year, before they run out of money or are swallowed by a larger company. This company? No indication of its age on its "About Us" or "Media Kit" webpages. So why should I believe that my data would be safe with this company for 50 years?

  • +1

Even their About Us, Contact Us and Terms/EULA pages don't exist. That's an amazing indicator.

    • But they have a cool web 2.0 name, surely that counts for something?

Keep in mind that Zools monitors the file names that are saved in your Zoolz storage, and will cancel your account if they find any files they consider illegal.

Oh good. So not only is my privacy not guaranteed, but it's guaranteed to be violated. What an amazing service.

  • Free lifetime. They need to make money from your data somehow

  • the website is so doggy and poorly made
    make me question OP intension

      Hey SuperX,

Sorry, my intention is not bad :). I am just another bargainer trying (though looks like I failed) to help others.

My use case for this is to take another copy of backup "securely" on cloud. Having said that, I do not copy data anywhere on cloud with encrypting it locally with my own key. I use Arqbackup (https://www.arqbackup.com/) to encrypt my data locally and store encrypted stuff on cloud.

Sorry, maybe I should have made it clear on the post. This is my first post on Ozbargain, and found that deal pretty good for storing encrypting backups.

This is probably the only way for zoolz to work anyway. The backup utility sucks (especially if you just tell it backup a drive or user folder), it struggles on small files.

  • So whats the difference between (500GB Active, 500GB Cold)?

    • -1

In case you need cold storage

    • +1

Cold means that once you initiate a restore, it takes about 6 hours for the restore to actually begin. Hence it is not suitable for cases where you need immediate restoration of your data.
