Your local library will be cheaper

      • +2

Possibly, but local library isn’t for sale though.

        • +7

I dunno about that. Seems our entire government is for sale at the moment.

Minesweeper will run at 120 frames on a 1050ti. Unless you are running minesweeper the sweepering. Due to dynamic lighting and 4k textures it will get a max of 30 frames.

      • I’m currently playing the Black Ops version

        • +1

That is a tricky one. Are you using a bluetooth mouse? I have heard disabling bluetooth can give you an extra 12 gigaflops of performance, which should allow for 4x anti aliasing.

          @nuggetbro:

          No, a mechanical mouse.
          I’m a professional

  • Can I put a 2.5 inch hard drive in this and set the SSD up as a boot drive for windows?

    • -4

      Why not?

      It would void warranty though.

      • no it wont void warranty.
Internally it might be a 256GB 2.5" drive already so might not have room for another 2.5" drive

        • It comes with an NVME SSD so the 2.5" slot is free (unless you got the one with 1tb drive).

    • +4

Looks like it comes with a spare spot for one so yes.

      • Thanks potplanty.

    This kills it for me

Will usually send within 10 business days of receiving cleared payment

What sort of company takes 2 business weeks to send an item?

    • +4

They build it after you pay for it and ship it to your front door… why's that kill it for you?
even stuff that's in a box ready to ship in the country can take a week or two to get door to door.

      • -3

If I'm forking over a thousand dollars, I expect it to be delivered within 2 weeks. Not shipped within 2 weeks.

        What a silly question.

        • Not silly.
Most items i've gotten off ebay or from Ozbargain sites have take up to 2 weeks to deliver for the bigger items.
QC35 headphones i've ordered beginning of the week and eta isn't till end of next…
Kinda stupid to expect fixed delivery ETA's when they build it and ship it out of a factory in china, the last mile always is the longest.
          Silly reply.

        • -6

Whatever dude. I truly believe you're just spewing sh!t to trigger me.

It shouldn't take two weeks TO ship. (profanity).

[@Dagmar](/comment/6293986/Took 25 days to receive the Lenovo I ordered. Seems pretty standard.

        • +1

@Dagmar: Reminds me of a Queen song.

        • Not trying to trigger you but your original comment was a tad silly.
Stuff takes time to get from A to B.
It'll get to you as quick as it can i'm sure, Dell's not going to want people waiting forever.
It says Estimated between Mon. 10 Sep. and Mon. 17 Sep.
My QC35's ordered beginning of the week said ETA 31st Aug to 5th Aug.
Ebay's pretty upfront with it. having ordered from Dell before it's usually within 2 weeks.
Cleared payment is also straight away with paypal. So don't get what your rant is all about saying it kills if for you, it's a good price with 2-3 week delivery. Same Same.

also, I dont even see where it says "10 business days of receiving cleared payment…"
none the less i'm not gonna ship something out myself if payment hasn't cleared either..

1x1 wireless will be painfully slow but otherwise it's a great price for the specs.

    • Anyway to modify that? Dell website dosent seem to offer 2×2 upgrade…

  • Aren't the panels on these horrible or have they been improved?

    • The original TN panels were pretty bad.
I heard the IPS ones are an improvement but are kind of low-end still.

      • Actually, the IPS panels are not that bad. I own one myself and they are pretty good for most work/gaming.

      • Seconded - the original TN panels were horrible. Swapped mine with a grade-A LG panel and it was miles better. Very good value at this price.

        • did this cost you much to do ??

        • @pulsarlx07:

          It was a LP156WF6-SPB1 panel, from laptoppanel.com.au. Under $200.

  • Is this ok for a student doing graphics design?

    • Probably not, after some review it seems the screen is not great and battery life is meh

      • Battery life is excellent for a gaming laptop. Its one of the strong points for this laptop.
But agree that you'll want a better screen for graphics design.

  • I dont know much about building but is there anyway way to get 2x2 wifi on this?
