    Not MFI certified.
Apple has not licensed third parties to use USB-C to lightning.

Indeed. Beware of any USB-C to lightning cable that claims to be MFI-certified (example), checking here shows only the brand's USB-A to lightning cables are certified.

Don't waste your money on these generic USB-C to lightning cables. I bought many from eBay. They still charge but when I measured their performance with Ampere app it's slower than wireless charging. Apple will significantly slow down your charging to spite you for using non MFI certified cables. Also forget about using USB-C to lightning adapter if you want fast charging.

Varies by device. For iPhone X, >18W USB-C chargers aren't significantly faster than 12W iPad charger (i.e. <10% difference in one hour charging) (link). For iPad Pro, 29W USB-C charger can charge 0-80% two hours faster than 12W charger (link).

Agree 100%. Have tried generic cables and they charge at normal speed. When you plug in an Apple UBS-C to lightning cable, it's incredibly fast, especially for the first 50%. Just pony up the rip off price apple charges for their cables and all the problems will go away.

      • Cable + charger = $100ish @ Apple.

I guess that’s the price you pay for certainty.
