    • The same Logitech Harmony Elite Universal Remote Control, but only available from a few store in Australia.

    • Good find, but only 9 available in-store nationwide as far as I could tell, and no online order.

    • Am keen to match that price at Officeworks here in WA, however the closest EB with stock in WA is 600KM away from Perth - does that matter lol?

      • if you have ebay plus they would hopefully pricematch

      • +1

Depends on the staff that you ask to Price Match.

        • Unfortunately any staff that does price match this is violating the official price match terms. OW by official terms don't price match coupon code discount prices which is exactly what this is.

It's likely the staff member will load up the web page and see the full $449 price only and go by that. That's all they've got to go on.

        • @hollykryten: I was referring to price matching the EB Games Deal, which is basically low stock.

        • @RichardL:

Regarding the EB Games deal. The staff will likely claim that it's a clearance price and knock it back. Also if there's no stock any where nearby and there's no online delivery ordering they'll also knock it back due to no stock.

        • @hollykryten: Hence why it at the discretion of the OW staff, but most will refuse.

        • @RichardL:

Nah. I don't think the OW staff have discretion to violate their own Price Beat Guarantee terms. No price match if no stock, clearance or if a coupon code is required to obtain the price. This rules a price match out at OW against this coupon code discounted price from JB and they would just claim that EB Games is doing a clearance. It would probably be the same rules at other retailers. eg no price match against discounted code price or clearance prices.

        • @hollykryten: Nothing on the EB site that I can see would indicate it as being a clearance though or even a sale item. As such if thats their excuse I'd escalate it.

I'm not familiar with it but if the OW price match requires local stores to carry stock then that may be a different matter.

Probably worth noting that EB Games does have the ability to transfer stock between stores or to do free delivery of stock from another store to your house, as long as you go in store to arrange this. They are a bit spotty when it comes to arranging this but I've certainly used this service before to get items that weren't at my local store delivered to my home without shipping costs.

      • Let me know if you give it a crack. I'm tempted to go down and have a try and my local Officeworks too.

      • I doubt that you will get a price match at Officeworks as it's specifically stated that coupon offers are excluded from the price beat guarantee. Once they find out that this price is a result of a coupon discount code then it's probably nope sorry can't do it.

"What is excluded from the Price Beat Guarantee?
Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)"

    • It's not clear - does the EB Games version come with just the remote or with the Hub also? (apparently JB HiFi version includes the Hub)

      • Only one Harmony Elite on Logitech, so assume it's the same.

      • The remote is useless without the hub so I suspect it does

        • The remote works as a standalone IR transmitter. You can use it without a hub.

    • Thanks gimme. I price matched with OW over the phone. $190 is a steal.

Successfully price matched ebgames on radioparts ebay via chat.

    • Very nicely done.

      • Weird thing is that ebgames is blocked from their servers but they want to open the ebgames link in order to price match lol

I have placed my order using 10% targeted offer :D

        • Did you do this via ebay chat or with radioparts?

Is it through their price guarantee or another policy?

        • +1

@soyarsauce: With ebay chat. just provide them link to ebgames and ask for price match. also I cancelled my order with radio parts as the maximum credit they would give is $150 with price match (bit misleading saying they beat it by 5%). Find a listing with lower price and only $150 difference.

        • @Jimmy007: Thanks - trying now, the rep I have seems to have the same problem in not being able to access ebgames.com.au, and won't match it since it doesn't have a SKU they can use!

        • @soyarsauce: Just keep sitting and insisting, also once done and if you have targeted 10% offer then buy from here seller has 100% feedback and you will only end up paying $209 after 10% targeted offer and credit they will give you

        • @Jimmy007: I had to reread this a couple of times so just wanted to check -

you are or are not buying from radio parts? If not, who?

And were you chatting with ebay to get the price guarantee?

        • @GaryG: yes chatted to ebay. But the total credit is capped at $150 so I canceled my order with radio parts and made and order through second link I posted here. Using 10% off targeted offer

        • @Jimmy007: Definitely challenging chatting with them, doing it now.

Challenging me if I was still going to buy from eBay if I found it cheaper elsewhere.

And then getting told it is a guarantee post purchase so even if they help me buy now, I need to pay in full and then get a voucher for future purchases!!

        • @GaryG: yeah their attitude is not so good, yet it’s a priority service for plus members.

        • @Jimmy007: Gave up in the end. Couldn't handle the fact the kept talking about a "refund voucher". Yeah sure but help the purchase and not exactly usable anywhere else!!!

        • @GaryG: Maybe I should thank eBay?

Rang my local Officeworks and they pricematched so $190 all up.

No hassle at all and done over the phone. The guy even said when he was checking availability that it didn't matter that the only stock was in Bendigo (I'm in Melbourne)!

        • @GaryG: what store?

  • +1

These are fantastic remote controls, but my god they are expensive!

It seems every new model is more expensive than the model it replaces.

    • +2

I agree they are excellent remote controls. But my few years old Harmony 650 remote still works well. I don't really see the point of paying $150 more for this.

  • Coming up as $449 + (shipping) 4.95 = $453.95 to me…

    • +1

Yeah, because you need to add it to your cart and use the provided coupon code at checkout to get it for that price.

      • Excellent, I missed the promo code.

I used to buy the top line Harmony whenever I needed a new one, but these days I can't see enough value between the Elite and the Harmony 650, at an RRP of $90.

The Elite is cool, so that's great if you're happy to pay it, I just think the 650 is very underrated.

    • The Elite is cool, so that's great if you're happy to pay it, I just think the 650 is very underrated.

Couldn't agree more on that. I got a 650 and it is few years old. Works perfectly. I don't see the real reason for buying this expensive one at all.

    • Also, the 650 still has number buttons, useful for those too lazy to scroll up/down through FTA/Foxtel channels. Harmony One was my all-time favorite remote (but for the rubbish battery).

  • +4

All harmony evaporates when your SO finds out how much you spent on it.

  • +1

Still rocking my Harmony 650 $39 from dick Smith all those years ago.

  • +1

Ok.. so here is how its done! Call Officeworks just after 5:30 so they have a problem calling a local ebgames store. Then suggest them to call ebgames in WA! Give them the Kalgoorlie number to call (because your a nice person). They need to validate the model to be like for like as the website as ebgames does not provide any SKU or model number. When Officeworks validate it they also beat it by 5% so you go down to pick it up and pay $190. Happy days!

    • interesting that you get a Harmony 650 and a xbox for the price of a harmony elite

    • +1

So how does that work if say you live in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. Is Officeworks going to price match against a store on the other side of Australia?.

      • Hats why you do it after 5:30 and before 7pm shut for Officeworks

        • +1

I walked in to ow in victorian store 40min ago showed ebgames websight sale person said no worries we will beat it I got 3
For $570 total instead for $1494

        • @Dex38313:

Can you upload the receipt , I will try my local office works tomorrow.

        • will do in mornings they just need to c eb games websight
Call your Lola’s if have stock they will hold for u

        • @Dex38313: Thanks mate. Grabbed one. Was looking for a good deal for a while now. Cheers.

  • +5

Ow price beat eb no worries

    • Me too.

    • Me 3

  • I wish Logitech just had an app so I could use the IR Blaster via my phone with their remote control database (other apps don't work for my Bauhn TV)

    • Can't you do that with the current app and this hardware? It reads like you can.

      • Wanted to use my device (phone) which has IR (for use as a remote) and use their app to access their database of devices.

  • Successfully price matched the ebgames price with Office works .. the store didn't even have it in stock, and had to pre-order and still got it for $190! Thanks mate! Never thought I'd be able to get this cheaper than that crazy $200 JB-HiFi deal few years back!

  • Very tempting but my Harmony One is still going strong - would have liked the hub to control my Shield TV but kind of like the Shield remote too. So have to let this go and praying my Harmony One will last a fair while still.

  • Also price matched in-store in Officeworks - took 4 different staff and a call to the head office, but in the end it went okay. Got for $190!

Don't know if it helped but I also showed my phone showing JB Hi-Fi discount applied on my cart which made the staff balk less at the massive discount.

  • Yeah got mine for $190 too. Price matched EB Lismore at Northmead OW
    SCORE!

  • JB HIFI price matched the EB Games price so got it there for $200.00

    • Could u upload the recipe please? I tried to do at JB but they refused me

  • I take it this deal is no longer valid from JB Hifi or EB Games ?

    • +1

      Still on at EB Games

  • +1

Ow as of tonight still price matching and beating eb games
But hn only going to $200

  • Officework refused to price match.

    • An idiot from EB told OW that EB's package only contains the remote and the charger and is without the hub. OW HQ took that misinformation and sent an email to all stores to stop price matching. The fact that Logitech does not sell the Elite without the hub is conveniently ignored by OW.

      • I picked up one today from eb games and it has the remote docking station and hub same as ow and hn
No problem getting them from ow I had an office works ring eb National number to confirm what’s in box

  • Alvian is right on the money there.

I went to both the Bondi-Junction OfficeWorks yesterday & Liverpool OfficeWorks today.

In both stores, ….they were UNwilling to match the price on-line of EB Games….said that OW head office told them not to…they also mentioned that the "Harmony Elite remote" EB games had "does NOT" have the HUB included!

This is absurd, … the Logitech website clearly states that there is ONLY one type of "Harmony Elite" packaging/product available!….& it always includes the HUB in all packages/boxes!
I bet they (OfficeWorks) just don't want to sell so many with there "Price Beat" guarantee + 5% off for the reduced price of $190!!

Read up on today's Ozbargain Logitech Elite remote listing, and noticed that another ozbargainer (KobiOshi), went to David Jones in Melbourne CBD, & got it price matched for $200.
Tried David Jones Market st. store Sydney CBD and scored myself 3 x Elites for $200 each.
(no stock left on shelf though)
Sales chap was very very helpful,..got another colleague to look up the EB games listing, & agreed to match it!
Didn't know DJ's price matched before today!

Just try DJ's in Chatswood and Bondi OR other Australian nationwide DJ's stores.
They price match NO issues asked.
After all, only $10 more than OfFiceWorks, and saves me more time driving around trying other OW's stores, and then ONLY if they agree that its the same product as EB games!
