    Cheers OP :)

  • Everyday people still sell on eBay?

    • +1

Sure I sell shit on there once or twice a month at least.

      • I just figured with the double dipping fees and now fees on postage people would of all moved off using it.

        • +1

          Agreed.
But gumtree is a joke, so i pick my poison.

        • @YogaPants: I think eBay is a better sellers market just because there's the most people … the more people there is, the bigger pool of naive users who will pay extra.

Also for some reason Gumtree users go nuts low ball offers which you mostly avoid on eBay.

    • Yep, get much higher prices in the end compared with Gumtree or Facebook where people will just lowball the crap out of you as that is what is expected there. The huge eBay audience helps a ton too. Even with the extra eBay costs I'm always well in front compared to Gumtree/Facebook.

    You've already accepted the offer

    Strange

    • Yeah got the same but tried in another account and said you're not invited goodbye. So should be ok.

    Thanks, OP!

  • says i've accepted offer but doesn't show up in account

    • Promotional offers only appear once they’re active, it will show up today.

  • They are charging us the 10% GST which makes the profitability sink and it is just not worth it anymore. I sold $90 worth last month at a small profit. They took it in GST. This just makes it not worthwhile unless I charge more for my old crap. Then I will not sell it at all so it's bye bye eBay from me and 3 of my friends for same reason. Time we have paid very high postage and 10% GST it is over the top. The GST is now the twist in the knife. When my mate complained to eBay they told him that if he got an ABN number he would not be charged. We are retirees for heavens sake. no way!! So we all say " bye bye eBay! "

That’s the attraction of offers such as this one. No final value fees, no GST.

      • Yes exactly. And remember to create enough listings to last the entire month.

    • The GST is an extremely unfair tax which moves the tax burden off the wealthiest and onto the poorest in a manner which exactly mirrors income - literally the wealthier you are the lower your tax rate is.

This is the fault of anyone who voted for the Liberal and Labour Parties. The intent was to screw you and we voted for this.

      • The wealthier buy crap that poor people don't buy. It's a consumption driven tax.

If you're rich and don't buy anything, yeah you can save a higher % of income.. I don't know how many people have more income without having more expenditure but I suspect it's not many.

I'm all for higher GST and zero other taxes. That way the rich can't dodge paying it like they do currently with expenses, offsets, etc. If you want quality of life with GST, you'll have to fork over for it. For fear of economic depression you'd probably need to have a minimum somehow though so that government expenditure can keep things from coming to a standstill.

    • GST is on the fees. So, if you do the maths, it is 1% more (if you don't have a final fee waiver) - which in your case is ~90 cents.
It is the actual final value fee and postage charges that makes it unattractive to sell on feeBay.

I don't like the GST and I did not vote for the Liberal or the Labour Parties. However, in my area, it doesn't matter which party I vote for, it is a safe seat for one of the two parties.

These no fee offers are helpful. I don't bother selling without these or the cap $1 final value fee offers.

  • Yes, maybe! But aside from this short term, limited offer, the whole eBay thingy is no longer worth it to us! Sad but true!

I get offers like this every month.

  • Great offer - last time I accepted it, got charged at the end of the month and had to chase them! Heard this happening to many people. Not very good!

    • i do get charge too. how do you chase them? phone or email? thanks.

Not a Seller: but with FleaBay fees well above the 10% range, they now appear like the percentage Pokies rake in out of each dollar input?

From W'Pedia our latest PM, MotorMouth & self-described Christian (a dual Minister, Religion too?), along with Dutton conveniently forget the "One Rule - to rule them all", the Golden Rule!
    Which Confucius accepted.

Apparently as a Lieberal Party employee he didn't even get a GST share of preselection votes.
However, the selected Engineer was subsequently dumped on the basis of scurrilous lies - since disproved ;-(

From the "Follow the Money" mantra, if true, does our latest PM belong behind bars?

Or Trump like ;-) is it all FAKE news!

    • go easy on the Socialist homebrew hootch, it kills brain cells very rapidly

  • Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

I have targeted deals hidden for Ozbargain but because this one is pinned it shows for me anyway.

Thanks op, worked for me. I was just about to sell a bunch of things too and wasn't aware of the offer.

  • All of the links say, "by invitation only".

    Oh well.
