  • Who is the participating retailer?

  • So if purchased before 31.08 then no? Thats so sad…

    • *Offer available from 31.08.18 to 30.09.18

If you purchased it today, you should be fine. If you purchase before today, unfortunately you miss out.

      • 30days return and buy again? Mine delivered today from Binglee when this was on 20% off in Ebay.I am feeling so lazy about this. hmm.

    • If you purchased recently, say sometime in August, I would contact the retailer and advise that you wish to have the name on the invoice changed to another name. Many retailers would oblige, as you could simply say that it was originally purchased as a gift and you would like to have the person receiving to have the invoice in their own name. This may generate a new Invoice with a September invoice date, so you can claim the Dok thing-a-ma-jig. Nothing inherently dishonest in doing so in my opinion.

    • I had purchased on 28/8, and I sent in my receipt for the hell of it, and they accepted and just delivered. So give it a go anyway!

      • Same. It's rubbish though..was hoping to just use the bottom half to hang the other bits since I don't like the idea of always removing the wand after a clean but double holder doesn't fit on the bottom half, seriously Dyson..

  • Nice

    That thing is hideous!

    • +1

Yeah, would be ok if it came with a cover that went over the top that hid all the parts.
Probably store in the laundry anyway.. not the living room.

I figured you would be over-exaggerating. But, no.

OP (or mods), please can you update the description to include the link. It will be helpful to those of us who don't know what a 'Dok' is. :)

All well and good, but who wants to connect the stick to the motor every time they want to clean a small section of floor?

Seems counter-intuitive to the way most people use their Dyson.

    • Yeah in the photos, it looks like you have to take the attachments off before you can charge it in the dock. That is pretty stupid.

  • I just want that 5piece accessory kit

  • +2

All Dyson handsticks should have a universal dock like that. I don't fancy screwing docking stations into the wall.

    • +2

(Enough of) 3m removable Velcros hold Dyson just fine.
I'm glad I used 3m instead of screws as Dyson changes the wall holder and even screw positions between generations.

How many Dysons are you going through? A vacuum cleaner should last 10 years at an absolute minimum

        • Yeah, but some upgrade their vacuums when good deals come out. Haven't sold our old Dyson yet, but we plan to after getting a new handstick one. The old one is only 4 years old, and still going strong.

        • They don't break, but after 4-5 years there is enough wear & tear and technological advancement particularly with duration and sucktion to justify upgrade. Agree that with their price tag they should last longer. However they fetch decent price secondhand so upgrading them is usually not to bad.

      • +1

Didn't think about that. Great suggestion! Thanks.

  • Dyson are the new Apple with products designed to be replaced every 2 years. Ours made it just past the 2 year warranty

    • More expensive TV’s only come with 1 year warranty.

This thing will look amazing in my living room

  • Phew! Dad just told me he wanted the V10 Absolute for Father's Day. Bought it on DJ online. With 5.5% cashback and 10% off giftcards they're also throwing in $50 with full price purchases. I also had some extra giftcards as gifts.

  • +1

I still think the $659 I paid for the v10 absolute + at dj’s was a better deal. Handy to have all the accessories tidied up though.

    • +1

      How did you score that?

  • +3

WOW!!! This V10 takes plastic parts to a whole new level. Coming to landfill near you!! Engineered to fail just after the warranty expires and the little bits that break between this period could be classified as abuse.

Dyson have some really good ideas and products, but they seem to engineer weak spots that can render the item unusable (e.g very small plastic bits that retain switches, lever or clips). I think Dyson know this as well. The amount of time and money that goes into some of the moulding and CNC machining of some of their parts is amazing, but then they mount a 2c switch that's actuated but a el-cheapo lever that's going snap in no time.

Engineering should be more then just making the best vacuum, it should be about developing quality products that are not obsolete after a couple of years. The world doesn't need more rubbish. I guess there is no money in building products to last.

P.S: It's probably just me, the picture of the guy picking up the vacuum looked like he was operating a core drill, hence the click :-)

I'll keep my German engineered and BUILT! vacuum. Dyson, I hope those German companies eat your f**ken lunch!

    • This is so true. Ours lasted 2 years and 2 months. As you say very plasticy with lots of weak points. I disagree it was a good vacuum though, it was terrible in every way.

Brought mine today. A friend had a 25% discount code (once off code) for the dyson store, so I only paid $750 😁 I saw on gumtree people were selling the code for $20 if anyone is interested

    • Thanks for the tip, I had to pay 30 for the code but well worth it! $780 is the best price around and I have been looking for a while!

      • Where can buy the code? I also want it, I check gumtree, but didnt see anyone selling the code.

  • Bought last week but only picked up yesterday, receipt dated yesterday 1/09/2018. Thanks OP.

  • +4

Anyone who got their v10 during eBay plus sale, try and claim one. I did and claim went through. Scanned the receipt that came with the vacuum.

  • +2

Got the free dok delivered today! Thanks OP!

  • +3

If anyone is looking for a current deal, Binglee has the Absolute for $799 or Animal for $738 using a 20% code on Ebay at the moment. Makes for a mighty solid deal with this dock chucked in.
