will youfoodz be around in a couple of years time, let alone 20 years time?

and they seem to have forgotten about inflation. one meal will probably cost $70 in 20 years time :)

In the event that the prize provider is unable to honour the prize for the
entirely of the term due to unforeseen circumstances out of their control,
including but not limited to company closure for whatever reason or a change
in product/service, the prize provider will not be held accountable.
Reimbursement for the remaining value will be determined by the prize
provider and that decision is final.

"Reimbursement for the remaining value will be determined by the prize
provider and that decision is final." aka $0

        • If they go bankrupt the usual deal is they need to pay out x amount of cents to the dollar….

        • +3

          @Hirolol: e.g. zero cents

Technically the prize is 1 x $70 voucher each week, for 50 weeks of each year, for 20 years. So inflation works in their favour and the upfront cost of the prize is very minimal to them despite the large advertised figure.

    • Yeah but its free to enter and it will be free if you win… so, what have you lost really? nada

Same for the inflation argument, yes inflation will likely continue on average (although some states this quarter were barely above a recession!), but its only 20 years… 2017 compared to 1997 CPI prices were 66% higher. So hypothetically if a meal costs $9.99 now, it may be ~$16.60 at the end of the period so you slowly taper down from 7 meals a week to <6 by late 2024, <5 in ~2031, to get just ~4 meals free by the end - first world problem!

      • Definitely a 1st world problem. Though their min order may be more than the voucher (not just because inflation, but because they may exit the 'growth phase' in a year or so), so may at least cost something to redeem.

  • is the "BLOCK1FREE" coupon code any good?

You get $10 off your meal but minimum order is $49.

  • Thanks Doweyy, Given the size of the meals I think I would prefer twice the food for ten years.

  • 20 years would be torture.

I couldn't even handle sex or ice-cream every night for 20 years.

Missing out mate. Obviously talking about ice cream lol.

  • This could be perfect for uni. It would at least save me from buying and preparing my own meals.

    • +4

Planning on being at uni for 20 years? Very ambitious.

      • +1

Well if she times it right, her kids can eat it when they go to uni too!

        • More like ending uni next year. But I'd be able to use the rest of the meals for any job that I get or for dinners.

  • I love cooking. If I win this, I'll be spending some weeks just donating this to some food bank.

It would change my cooking though, from something I need to do to eat, to something I do when I want to eat some specific thing, or when I feel like experimenting.
