They want us to buy but didn't send the sim?

  • +10

I bought one from last deal, my SIM never came. I raised that with Amaysim, they say they can send out another SIM (never received that either) but it's not their problem for me missing cashrewards. I cant get a refund for that lost SIM, poor service I'd say.

    • +1

Same thing happened to me as well.

    • +2

Amaysim refunded me $10 and no cashback.

      • Don’t think you could expect more than that in the circumstances.

  • +5

Ordered two services in separate two occasions, never received the SIM and has to request via online chat.
I was offered to buy $2 starter pack and get $2 refund by online chat. This doesn't make sense to me.

    • same said to me.

  • 5GB deal works better for me. I get unlimited India calling for 4 AUD this way.

    • Good deal, Op should add the 5gb plan for $30.00 ($26 cashback) to the post as well.

Disappointing these plans are only for 28 Days. I think 30 days should be the minimum.

  • +3

Same here, sim never came even after calling them. Not worth the trouble.

Caution as i fear i wont get my cashback from last deal. I am still waiting… I did all the correct steps to.

  • +4

Seems lot of people were having issues when receiving the sim made me hesitate

    • They’ve clarified that on this occasion only, they will honour cashback (pending all other terms in OP) as long as the SIM is activated within 30 days of purchase date.

Just give more time if people didn't receive the sim.

  • +2

Bought. Just a bit concerned that the cashback from Amaysim takes a long time to get approved. The cashback from the last 2 offers in July won't be approved till October.

    • FYI, I have no ad blocking turned on in my browser, but my transaction has not tracked yet and it has been 24 hours. Not sure if it is a problem with cashrewards or amaysim.

  • +4

why so many people not getting sims? whats going on.

I had a look in my Shopback and Cashrewards histories and found that both the cashbacks were denied by Amaysim. The shopback order was for 40 AUD.

I would be very very careful with anything Amaysim. I am giving this one a miss.

    • Did you ask Cashrewards to find out why the cashbacks were declined?

      • +1

Opened tickets with cashrewards and shopback.

    • Did you history for same sim in both SB and CR?

      • Cashrewards was in Jan and shopback was in July

  • +1

Amaysim didn't send me the SIM Card either

  • I took part of the deal posted by tightarse early this year with $20 sim with $30 cashback without issues.

  • Do you have to create a new account with Amaysim?
Do the T&C for this apply https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/392336 ?
Can you use this deal if you used the one linked above?

  • No cashback recieved so not happy. I haven't chased them up but certainly not going ahead with this deal.

  • +4

I don't get out of bed for less than ten "cashrewards" dollars.

  • Term 2 states "Cashback is not payable for recharges on an existing service."
I used to be with amaysim then ported out to a different provider. If I purchase this sim card am I still eligible for the cashback as I have an existing amaysim account, but no active service?

    • You’ll need to create a new account with a different email address to be eligible.

  • And I thought I was the only one not receiving my SIM from another offer!

  • I received my sim from last round. Apparently the sim is already activated (you don’t have to do anything to activate the sim). NOTE: IT IS ALREADY ACTIVATED. WHICH MEANS EVEN IF YOU DONT USE IT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR RENEWAL.

This happened to me. I ordered the sim thinking it was a profit in pocket. I received the SIM card at left the envelope unopened. But after 28 days Amaysim charged me a renewal fee.

I would recommend everyone to Stay Away from this, unless paying $20 for 2.5gb plan is what you are happy with

    • +2

Once your account is set up you need to log in and change your payment method to Bpay to avoid auto renewal.

      • I agree with you.

I ignorantly expect Amaysim to behave like other telco companies (simcard is usually activated and your Bill only starts when you USE the service). In this case the simcard was already activated before I opened the envelope, as an ignorant customer I am not aware that Amaysim can’t wait to renew customers, even before they popped the simcard in the phone.

I hope not many are affected, especially those who hasn’t received their simcard. This sounds like a scam…

        • +2

It's not a scam, Amaysim are known for already activating their sims. Also these deals with cashback usually require you to activate the sim in order to get the money. So opening the envelope and using it would have been a good idea.

You should get on the live chat and ask for a refund. They are usually very helpful at sorting out any issues.

        • +1

@WatchNerd: I’m very amazed with how Amaysim tricks customers this way, but you have your point. Thank you for the tip!

  • +11

Have to neg this due to the last deal.

I had ordered a sim card that nerver arrived. I wasn't the only one.

Sounds like a big promotional rort to me.

  • Nope, not going to fall for this scam again!
