eBay Australia Triple Cashback 3.3% (up from 1%) @ Cashrewards (4 Hours Only, 8:00pm - 11:59pm)

2010

Stack with any of the eBay deals below. Increase runs for 4 hours from 8:00pm to 11:59pm AEST tonight. Thank you as always for your ongoing support. Enjoy :)

A small education piece:

Please always ensure your last click before purchase is from Cashrewards. Simply click Shop Now and complete your shopping without leaving eBay. A lot of untracked claims come from the fact members have other tabs open and/or are using Google or comparison sites to review their product/s before purchase. All cashback/rewards sites work off a simple principle - last click. The winning affiliate is always the one that receives the last click. Also turn off any AdBlock/uBlock/Ghostery as well as Safari (mobile and/or desktop) Cross-Site Tracking. Finally, you must return and click through from Cashrewards to the store every time you make a new transaction/purchase.

I can't believe a shopback rep upvoted this comment, what a joke, so unprofessional.

    • This fits the very definition of a deal.
It's a 230% increase on the usual rate.
If someone is making a large transaction on eBay, it makes a massive difference.

      • The point is they can make this deal permanent, but then will not be able to post it on OZB as it will become a "normal price" so we stuck playing this never-ending marketing game of temporary increases.

This has nothing to do with this deal but to anyone thinking of joining CR that hasn't I would highly recommend them. They have never done me wrong and TA always takes every enquiry seriously and acts upon it in a professional manner. Because of this level of service, CR has won my loyalty even when a competitor has a slightly better %. Keep up the great work :)

    • +7

I second this. TA's service is first rate.

      All hail our god TA.

      • This is spiralling out of control like Nkorea and the USA.

I propose a summit between shopback and cashrewards. I'll mediate for the price of 1000 A grade eneloops and a Christmas hamper.

    • +7

Thirded. It's not just his arse that is tight, his customer service skills are too.

    • Ditto to this.
Never had any issue with CR, and any problems I've had with cashback amounts etc have been resolved professionally and promptly. Definitely easy to be loyal to them.

    • Not to mention CR is an Aussie business and would suggest supporting Aussie businesses if the difference is minimal. Though dont liked 1-3 % ebay discounts.

  • +2

    I'm gonna be that guy.

Literally just made two orders -_-

  • Does cash rewards work with auntion items?

    • +11

If my aunt ever listed anything on eBay I'm sure it would work just fine.

    • If those auctions are ending in within the timeslot, click through before it ends and pay for it after it has ended it should work. It has for me previously.

    Any bargains?

  • anything for Groupon tonight, tightarse?

  • Literally just brought a laptop 30 min ago. Oh well, next time

    • +15

      Where did you bring it?

    • +3

      I figuratively just brought one.

    • +2

I virtually died when I found out you took a laptop somewhere an hour or so ago! (Sorry, it's too much fun)

  • Oh .. just used my $10 off with $20 purchase.

  • I use Chrome, and I cannot get CR to activate on ebay today.. it acts like its doing something, then comes back and prompts me to activate again… anyone else having this problem, or anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

  • Is there a maximum Cashback limit TA?

  • a bit too late ;/ already blew $225 earlier today..

  • Does PENNY5 still work? That gives you 5% off

    • +38

Just remember that the only reason SB increased their eBay rate is because we were first. But that's fine. If you believe this deal warrants a neg, do as you please. Without us putting it out there first, there would be no increase. Shame you don't see the bigger picture.

      • -1

Competition benefits consumers and that is the bigger picture. We’re lucky to have strong laws against anti-competitive behaviour.

        • +16

          Competition benefits consumers

Yep so by negging this deal you are basically biting the hand that feeds you. There is no bigger picture than that.

          @WatchNerd: Well said.

      • Ok I bought into the marketing and will run with cashrewards. Just ran up 3 transactions for $2,008.91 … now I cross my fingers the cashback works out. I've kept each under the $50 cashback.

As an side note to cashrewards / cashback … i had a Hilton hotel stay booked and tracked. But the hotel moved us from the hotel to a sister hotel due to over booking (at the same price) and I had the email correspondence from Hitlon. As a new booking was made by the hotel chain internally by them (not by us), the cashback was then denied when it came claim time. And no amount of me nudging cashrewards could make it happen. It is that stuff that really starts to make me question the larger purchases i.e the small stuff tracks fine.

        • -1

But the hotel moved us from the hotel to a sister hotel

You probably ended the contract between you, cashrewards and Hilton by accepting a new contract directly with Hilton.

So basically, the first contract would be ended, and Hilton internally giving you a new contract.

I doubt any cashback company will be able to do anything about it, it'd be purely Hilton that would need to honour the original cash back to the cashback company.

        • +2

          @rompastompa:

I probably ended the contract … What.

So all of a sudden it became my problem when a few days out from the stay it changes by the hotel (not initiated by me)?
(during Easter holiday break when hotels are full. So it is accept it or sleep on the street).

It seems like a nice little scam e.g the hotel could just as easily upgrade the room at $n/c, cancel the booking and re-book. Blam the cashback is voided.

I would have thought the agreement I have is with cashrewards. So provided I don't change the booking (or refund the purchase), and I can provided the evidence (proof) of not my initiation of the change, that should be enough for cashrewards to claim back the cashback I would have thought. Yet it was a case of 'too bad, tough luck, move along'. Sorry, I don't agree with your view.

        • +1

@nonpop: Cashrewards is the referrer, so they're basically getting paid to 'point you in the right direction'. You pay directly to Hilton (not CashRewards), Hilton pays CashRewards, who then gives you a part of the 'referral bonus'.

So, the agreement will always be with Hilton. CashRewards isn't a hotel booking system, so how can they overbook? Your issue is with Hilton (and all hotels really, as I believe they're are always trying to overbook as many people cancel their bookings).

If Hilton cancels the original booking, and then books internally to a sister company, you would have accepted a new contract with Hilton's sister company.

You could have disputed it, and they may have offered a refund (which of course you'd need to make a new booking elsewhere). CashRewards could have also disputed it, and maybe they didn't because it's too hard or it might be in the hotels terms and conditions. "cancel the booking and re-book. Blam the cashback is voided." Maybe it's a common occurrence?

This is my understanding and could be wrong. Just giving a different perspective of the situation. Maybe @TA can confirm / deny?

        • @rompastompa:

So you are saying that all the purchases we make, cashrewards can just say "best of luck". Sorry, but no. Cashrewards may just point to the site, but there is an intrinsic contract between myself and cashrewards. I have followed a process laid out before me. The transaction has tracked. The provider has collected my money that I agreed to pay. I have not instigated nor contributed to the 'invalid claim'. The hotel collected my exact amount of money. The hotel made the transfer. So again, I pose the scenario where if the hotel decides to make any changes to the booking (at their initiation (instance)) then I forfeit the the cashback? I would say that is far from appropriate.

Imagine the scenario then … cashrewards 10% promo online purchase … cashback tracks. Etailer decides to change the sale for whatever reason e.g if they change the colour from black to grey due to out of stocks when they go to pick/pack (so they credit / reinvoice), voiding the cashback. Would you accept that ? Or of the address needed to change from PO box to street address (they don't like PO boxes), so they credit / reinvoice and it voids the cashback. Would you accept that ?

        • My advice is don't make big purchases if cashback is the reason you entered into it. If you weren't otherwise going to make them, then don't. All sorts of things can happen with cashbacks, and sometimes the cashbacker is powerless to do anything about it. It's up to the seller, and if a problem happens, you don't have any recourse with the seller, because they weren't the one who offered you the cashback.

I didn't know about the Amazon peculiarity about cashbacks not working unless you add to cart after you click through. I had them in my cart, clicked through, and it didn't track (this will work with every other seller). I got the generic rejection letter about ad blockers, canceling transaction, refunding transaction, and all that usual stuff. I learned too late about the Amazon exception. I don't believe CR or SB mentioned this anywhere but I might be wrong. It could be hidden in a fine print somewhere.

I view cashbacks as a bonus that I might or might not get, as opposed to an expectation or entitlement. That means I don't make big purchases for the sake of cashback. If I don't get it, I don't care as much. If you don't get the cashback, you don't have a legitimate reason to get a refund on the item with the seller, because the seller never agreed to anything with you in the first place.

      • **** Shopback honestly, all they're trying to do is undercut you by measly percentages. Just because they can afford to do this and cut down margins somewhere else just to beat you by 1% shows how bloody petty they are.

        Keep up the GW TA.

        • I guess you don't like the OW/Bunnings/most-retailers price guarantee of beating by 5/10% then? Very petty.

        • @lostn: show me a retail outlet who price beats by 1%. Show me, and I will rescind my statement.

        • @Ghosteye:

          True.

Though Harvey Norman often price beats their competition by $1.

So most retailers price their things at $699, $799. But HN does their pricing at $698, $798 to avoid price matching.

There is always one to come up with a reason to neg a deal that started a domino effect!

  • +5

It's a trap, dont buy if you didn't want or never planned to buy.

    • Arghh! Damn too late! Just bought a printer :P

  • Thanks so much for this TA and CR! A 230% increase on the rate bundled with all the % off eBay deals makes this very attractive.
    A big + from me.

  • Dammit I bought via CR at 6:40pm today. A little bit salty about that now.

  • -2

Any deals on new sony 1000XM3?

  • Thanks TA love your work!

  • Approximately how long does it take for a purchase to be tracked?

    • For eBay, typically 36-48 hours, but could take up to several days.

      • +1

        Fantastic, appreciate the info. Cheers.

  • +3

I wonder if the educational paragraph included in the top might also state "your ebay shopping cart must be filled after the time the cashback offer starts, as eBay tracks the time of sale by the time the basket is filled, not when the basket is paid for."

I was recently caught out by this, and I wonder if others have too.

    Great discount here TA.

    • Tight Arse please confirm the above. Also if you save for later then when does it track?

      • Not sure about saving for later, but adding items to basket and leaving them there to pull the trigger means the purchase counts at the time the basket was filled (in my experience anyway).
