    "Up to"

    • I know, but it seems there are only a few major pet food resellers and it wouldn't be too far fetched or unreasonable to believe a lot of price discussion occurs between them.

  • Up to doesn't mean everything…

    Edit: just saw chibot's comment.

  • Ends 8 am today

  • Deal is over

Good price on Royal Canin dog food … $95-ish for the large medium adult bag.

    • Good price on Royal Canin dog food

specifically tailor-made nutrition for a wide range of specific breeds of dogs. Working with world leading authorities, we combine the best protein sources and unique ingredients in biscuits specifically shaped, textured and sized to suit the shape of your pet’s jaw.

      Lets check out their claims

Labrador adult food: dehydrated poultry protein, rice, wheat, maize, maize gluten, animal fats, vegetable protein isolate*, hydrolysed animal proteins, vegetable fibres, beet pulp

Boxer adult food :rice, animal fats, dehydrated poultry protein, maize, vegetable protein isolate*, dehydrated pork protein, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, vegetable fibres, beet pulp

Cavalier adult food: rice, vegetable protein isolate*, dehydrated poultry protein, maize, animal fats, hydrolysed animal proteins, beet pulp, vegetable fibres

German Shepherd adult: rice, dehydrated poultry protein, animal fats, vegetable protein isolate*, maize flour, vegetable fibres, hydrolysed animal proteins, minerals, beet pulp

Regardless of the breed of dog the common ingredients happen to be rice, corn, corn flour, wheat etc. So they have worked with the best authorities, and use the best protein sources (dehydrated poulty protein, corn, vegetable proteins etc) and shaped into an ideal kibble shape for each dog. My Labrador loves the donut shaped kibble and scoffs at my cavalier because his kibble is shaped differently (silly mutt doesn't know that its just the shape that is different)

Who needs a similar priced food like Ivory coat/ Stay loyal etc that contains rubbish like kangaroo meal, chicken meal, salmon meal fresh fruits and vegetables etc, when we could feed our dogs with this premium food, owned by Mars, the same company that makes the chocolate bars.

Why would I bother feeding my dogs food from Ivory coat etc when all their kibble is shaped the same?

The only other alternative I would choose is Hill's Science diet which

provides precisely balanced nutrition tailored for a visible difference in large breed dogs and
High quality protein and thoughtfully sourced ingredients

such as Whole Grain Wheat, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Sorghum, Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken Meal, Pork Fat, Chicken Liver Flavor, Dried Beet Pulp
May contain chicken as well :)

  • Wow that was short lived. glad i managed to snaffle an order in when it was open. Thanks OP

    Check spam folders people.
I just found a "we miss you, so take 30% off everything" email.

    • Is there a code?

      • +2

        TAKE30

        • Awesome, this code is working

    • i got one of those while planning some purchases on the 25% off sale last week - extra 5% was a nice bonus.

  • For those that are finding it expired, are you going through Cash Rewards?

I have CR in my toolbar. Saw some things at 30% off, activated CR and discount disappeared.

If you are, maybe try again without CR as I'm still getting 30% off.

Actually, I could be wrong. Even in incognito items are going from discounted to not discounted.

  • Missed it :(

  • had something discounted in my cart this morning 930am. went and grabbed a coffee… now full price… fml lol

I don't get why upto 30% off full price is a deal! Just shop on Pet Circle and its like the regular price for reorders. Just keep adjusting the time to when you want them and the price is always discounted.

    • Petcircle more often than not does not does not have lowest prices.

      • Maybe every time i see these sales i check pet circle and it always the same price on an auto auto re order. So maybe just the same discount cycle.

        • depends on what you order
eg if you are silly enough to order Ivory Coat lamb/ kangaroo with ingredients like

(Lamb Meal, Kangaroo Meal, Potatoes, Peas, Dried Lamb, Dried Kangaroo, Pea Fiber, Tomato Pomace, Chicken Fat, Ground Flaxseed, Salmon Oil, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, Parsley, Apples, Blueberries)

          Pet circle $87.20 regular delivery
yesterday at Petbarn it was $82 with 30% off

Btw Ivory Coat costs less than Royal Canin but does not have the expertise of world leading authorities, they do not claim to combine best protein ingredients, nor is their kibble shaped differently for different dogs. Why would you bother with this food?

You could be feeding your dog with (dehydrated poultry protein, rice, wheat, maize, maize gluten, animal fats, vegetable protein isolate, hydrolysed animal proteins, vegetable fibres, beet pulp*)

          or

(Whole Grain Wheat, Cracked Pearled Barley, Whole Grain Sorghum, Whole Grain Corn, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken Meal, Pork Fat, Chicken Liver Flavor, Dried Beet Pulp) if you wanted a scientifically balanced meal :)

        • @docians:

I'm probably slow docians but.. is this sarcasm ? I genuinely can't tell..

One of our family feeds her dogs Royal Canin Labrador because he has some allergies and it's worked out this food doesn't seem to trigger them (and thus her other dog also gets to eat it anyway since she won't buy two separate types of food when both seem fine with Royal Canin).

We feed ours Blackhawk and whenever we've tried other brands (in the super premium range) we've had mixed success. We have gotten and tried Ivory Coat and they seemed happy with it but no happier than with Blackhawk so we've stuck with that.

I'd probably look at Ivory Coat if I could get 20kg bags and it was at a price comparable to the Blackhawk.

Also tend to look at petfoodreviews to get some idea - have found that to be pretty useful as a guide.

  • This flash sale was great as I noticed that because it was 30% off the top (with no code needed) it then allowed it to be combined with the yearly loyalty bonus (for the loyalty program). The only thing it wouldn't allow me to do is then add the 'earned' loyalty bonus on top as a way to pay as well (had a chat with a nice person in their support team that explained that one to me).

So Royal Canin Labrador went from $125 to $87.5.

Platinum loyalty was applied so that took another 5% off (bringing it down to $83ish)

I did try to run this through cashrewards but because it had some problem in the transaction side of things (which ended up being sorted out manually), it didn't go through. Missed out on about $15 from cashrewards but the Petbarn folk ended up applying a $10 loyalty bonus on top anyway so.. happy enough with that.
