    This or the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming 7567 model, i5-7300hq 8gb, gtx1050ti for $999? Such a hard decision. :(

    • I'm in the same boat. Can anyone give some feedback on the difference? Is it purely a decision based on what games we want to play? Does one sacrifice something the other does?

      • +2

If you want to do any kind of gaming, go the 7567 model. The 5575's Vega 10 (part of the APU) memory pool is shared with the system. From the get go, you'll want to find the fastest and largest DDR4 set you can afford to get the most performance as possible out of the Vega 10 GPU. In addition, the power envelope of the 5575 is designed to be much lower than that of the 7567, so while you lose threads going with the 7567, it will likely perform better in most scenarios. Besides, the GTX 1050 Ti is magnitudes more powerful than the Vega 10.

If on the other hand, you don't want to use it primarily for gaming and care much more about weight and possible battery life advantages, grab the 5575 - it is still a great laptop for the price.

For just gaming, I would go with the gaming model. Bigger, heavier, but better single core processing and a Geforce GTX (both of which most games tend to prefer).

The Ryzen is more of an all-rounder.

To briefly describe the major distinct points between the two laptops (ignoring the ones that are similar and won't matter in general day to day use):

        Hardware performance:

        • 7567 will have much better graphics performance, if you want to play any modern AAA games at more than low resolution and low quality settings, discrete graphics is the pick (but if gaming isn't a requirement for you, 2700U is actually quite impressively sufficient with very casual gaming at low to medium settings)
        • both CPUs are adequate, but intel CPU has QuickSync if you do renderings that can take advantage (and i5-7300HQ has better sustain load performance, even if burst performance loses out)

        Energy Consumption & Form factor:

        • 5575 has much lower power consumption while providing adequate CPU and (non-modern AAA gaming) graphics performance
        • 5575 has slight better portability (~<2cm height, ~2kg VS 2.53cm height and 2.59kg)

        Display:

        • 7567 has an IPS display (enough said lol, okay okay, IPS also has duds, but less likely to be worse than the TN in this comparison)

        Resell value:

        • Generally laptops with discrete graphics have better resell value (ie the 7567)

Pick the ones that matter more to you.

Like the comment above mentioned, the Ryzen is like an all-rounder, while the intel+GTX is an all-rounder that can game but heavier and bulkier and chews more power.

$40 more for dedicated graphics, is it really that hard of a decision?
