For anyone interested, I bought one of these and it's massive, I have big hands and it was too big for me. I was also hoping they would have included the quick scroll wheel from the mx master but alas it's a regular one. I ended up selling it to someone else. I'll stick with my old one.

I have the older one with the blue track ball, this model doesn't look like it has improved much to the previous model.

      • isn't the only real difference tilting/ wireless?

        • Better tracking apparently too, so maybe helpful for spreadsheet workers ( I occasionally miss the cells when using my M570 ) , I'm not going to upgrade for the small inconvenience though :)

    • Is it bigger than the old model?

I have large hands, and I find it really comfortable. Initially, I had it in the flat configuration, but I found that it was far more comfortable in the higher angle position. One thing to note, you only get the two angles: flat or at an angle. It wasn't clear in the documentation, and I thought that you could pick any angle between the two extremes, but that's not the case (It works with magnets and the angles of the mouse, so it can only do the two positions).

The scrolling buttons are in a far better place for my hands. They were useless to me with the M570, but the location of them on this mouse I find far more accessible.

I like it better than the M570, except for cleaning the trackball. I used to be able to put my pinky in to get the trackball out, but in the Ergo, the hole to pop the ball out is really small, so I tend to use a drinking straw to do it (as it won't scratch the ball)

  • cheers op wanted to try one of these :)

  • Great for gaming as well.

  • Can you move it too ?

      No Laser sensor, just trackball

  • I am waiting for this to some on sale https://secure.logitech.com/en-us/product/mx-vertical-ergono…
I can't get used to those ball mice

    • I've used something similar to the one in the link (from Microsoft). For some reason, I find the motion required to move the vertical mouse quite awkward (shoulders and elbows). The movement generated from these larger muscles/skeleton made it difficult to get precise pointer movement. I started using this MX Ergo recently. It took me about a week to get used to the thumb-eye coordination. After a while, it's been really enjoyable. No more wrist problems (from traditional mice), or shoulder/elbow strain (from the one you linked). For the first few weeks of using the ball, the thumb muscles felt a little sore but now that the thumb muscles have developed to cope with the new task, it's been great overall for daily office work. (I still use traditional Razer mice for occasional gaming though)

  • more accurate than the steam controller?

I totally disagree that this trackball is bigger than the previous model M570. It is more or less about the same size. If you had it flat it is slightly higher/taller the better curve allows your palm to rest more comfortably while in use. It is true that you could only have it flat or tilted at 20 degrees but that is all you needed, having it tilted at that angle is just perfect.

I highly recommended this MX Ergo to anyone who is using M570 or any other previous model. I have been using trackball all my life and this is by far the best trackball I have ever used. Now it is on sale I am going to get another one for work.

Don't forget Officeworks have 5% Price Beat Guarantee so now you can buy it for $82.85
