Amazon just reduced its price for pre-order beating their previous price of $69.

This item will be released on December 6, 2018

Amazon will not Charge you until the order is ready to be shipped. Also, Pre-orders can be cancelled at any time before it's ready to be shipped.

Don't forget your cashbacks!

Update 15/9: Looks like it's back up to $69, HN have also upped their priced to $69. Maybe HN have linked their pre-order prices to Amazon? Timing seems too coincidental to be a manual change.

For those that have already pre-ordered it will automatically adjust the price for you.

    • Really? Last time I had to live chat with them to adjust the price. Ended up they still charged old higher price and manually refunded me the difference.

What's the chance of getting it on release date without prime and not in a capital city?

    • +1

      Low?

    • +4

You won't even get it on release date with prime unless you're one of the lucky ones who get it sent out days before it's officially released

      • +3

Guess I'll be getting it from JB then

        • +2

          Big W

        • +3

@umadbrahhhh: JB and Big W are within 50m of each other so whoever has it cheapest wins :p

      • +3

No idea why you got negged, I'm a prime member and have yet to receive a preorder on release day.

        • What's up with this? I just had to complain about my Tomb Raider order for tomorrow as it states that it's being delivered on Tuesday. However the Amazon Prime FAQs clearly state that we should be eligible.

          Surely it's false advertising.

        • +1

I received my Spiderman on release day?

        • @dillyz: that makes you one of the aforementioned lucky ones

        • +1

          @Cheap Cheep:

When I lived in the US, delays were so common. I'd pre-order with Amazon to get 20% off the retail price (a Prime bonus they've since discontinued), there would be messages all over the site telling me I'd get it on release day, but then it would inevitably turn up 1-3 days late.

I'd complain, and sometimes they would extend my Prime membership by a month to compensate. Other times they'd just say that it was due to "supply issues out of their control". Another time they tried to blame the delivery company, until I pointed out that it was delivered by Amazon's own courier service.

If they can't get it right in the US, there's not much chance of them getting it right here.

        • @dillyz: Just curious, did you choose Express or Expedited Delivery?

      • -2

I got Spiderman PS4 on release no problems. They do express post and send the day before release. Now sure what planet you're on.

    • Both times I've pre-orderd from amazon and I've received them release day to outer western Sydeny.

This was for FarCry 5 and Spiderman last week. So I'll be purchasing SmashBros from amazon too.

      • Did you pay extra for expedited shipping?

    • zero.

    • I live 5 hours east of Melbourne and got Spiderman on launch day.

  • Harvey Norman showing the same price for those with HN gift cards lying around.

    • +1

Good to see HN finally trying to make an effort to be competitive, well in this one case anyway.

      • +5

I'm actually surprised that scumbag is being competitive after the +10% GST for < $1k orders

        • +2

Still not going to support him.

I'd rather support big w and target if they're close

    • Thanks for the heads up! Just purchased with my gift card from last year.

FYI, TA confirmed cashback won't be paid unless item is shipped and paid within 60 days of pre-ordering: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/400030#comment-6330829

  • Ah… to buy physical or eShop. Physical maintains resale, eShop is just convenient.

There were a few people who got Mario Odyssey and Zelda for cheap during Amazon sales, then traded them in at EB when they have those double your trade in value towards a pre-order during E3, made a "profit", then just re-bought the game digitally when Nintendo had their online sale. Sales on first party titles aren't common, but they come along eventually.

      • So saves from cartridges still worked with the digital copy I'm guessing?

        • Yes, it used the same footprint on your switch. We have 4 switches and 3 Splatoon carts, I downloaded the game when it was on special and the save was fine.

          @Lucifersfury82:

          Ah that's pretty clever! I didn't know.

The saves worked differently on the 3DS systems.

  • Price match time!!!!

    • Who is willing to price match it?

  • If Prime expires in two days and I pre-order this now, will I still get free shipping?

    • I believe Amazon has free shipping on orders above $49 regardless of whether you have prime or not.

    • You still get the free prime shipping, not the normal level. Ie expedited 2 day and hopefully release day delivery.

  • Whoa, what happened to Amazon's price on the deluxe bundle with the steelbook and the controller? I thought they were doing it for like $188 or something, but I just looked and it seems to have gone up in price.. :( What gives?

  • Is it online multiplayer? Recently went travelling with Doom and mobile 4G modem and was playing Doom MP in my hotel room. Amazing what you can do

    • Yes

  • -1

Yea no release day no deal. Big W had mario for $66 on release so surely they could have this too

    • RRP for Mario was $79, this is $89

      • We'll see i guess

      • Haha 66.10 at harvey normal

  • damn i already put in an order with EB games earlier in the year
    should i cancel?

    • EB Games

      Shut it down

    • i'm in the same boat because i traded in games. best bet is to hope that Harvey Norman keeps the same price and you can price match it. i think JB will keep it at $69 on release day and then increase the price the day after

  • Will $69 at launch with JB Target Big Dubs etc not worth the wait from Amazon.

    • Will $69 at launch with JB Target Big Dubs etc not worth the wait from Amazon.

Say wha? I reread this a few times and I and I’m still unsure as to the point you’re trying to make?

      • -1

LOL sorry forgot the "be" meant to say Will be $69 at launch. Most of the big hits have come out at $69 when launched because of all the shops trying to get the initial wave. Amazon will need to do better i.e. $45 or lower to get me to buy it from there and wait for it to be delivered.

Heads up, you guys had better not encounter me online, you won't stand a chance!
    I'm really (profanity) good!

    • +1

Geez, you're bragging on the internet to strangers. You must be good! :P

  • Wish it is cheaper. Finger crossed for more discount and I'll get it ;)
