ParcelS, I assume your "under $8" price is $7.95 excluding GST? It is illegal to advertise retail prices without GST. I have edited your title to $8.75.

    • Hi Alvian, agreed I already included GST in calculation when working out the $8 cost to most areas in Melbourne.

      • The calculator now quotes $6.48 (GST inclusive) instead of $8.75.

  • Are your drivers contractors? Do you pay super to them? It's a very low fee, I'm interested in how you are structured.

One suggestion I'd like to provide is that when entering postcode and parcel sizes on your website via Android phone, could you make it so that the numeric keyboard is invoked? It's a peeve of mine that more sites don't do it.

    • Hi Tony, some really good points, very smart thinking. Luckily we thought ahead. As our software has AI "artificial intelligence" built in to it, it continues to give more jobs along a delivery path of a driver and the driver can choose to keep on accepting those jobs that will in some cases be multiple parcels and the driver may have up to 20 or more parcels on-board at times.. The driver is therefore not doing point to point like Uber or relying on one parcel but instead getting multiple and continued orders along the path they are travelling. Approximate pickup times will of course depend on traffic and are estimates. Until there is enough volume for drivers to be earning our estimate of around $50 per hour, we will supplement all drivers income accepting jobs to ensure they are earning great money. I hope that helps explain how it works behind the scenes a bit

You didn't answer my question as to if you pay your drivers super? Also, do you cover the drivers insurance if they are involved in an accident, as well as the cost of any parcel damage, or are they self insured?

        • Hi Tony, drivers are self employed with ABN and pay their own super. We have insurance cover for parcels. Very similar to Uber model except that drivers can do multiple jobs at the same time and earn much more as we get busy.

  • Choose pick up time?

This is a big no no to you business i suggest, base d on sydney traffic you will be screw meeting thise pomised pick up time. If the driver cant make it and people expect the driver to come and puck up the parcel before they head of to work then they wont return for more business.

Also with this rate no driver willing to even pick up if they are not in the area.

I hope you business success so everyone doesnt have to rely on snail post(Australia post)

    • Really good questions and observations LoveBargain15, Please read my reply above to Tony's questions as it also covers yours I think. Cheers

      • what if you don't have the volume? so i think you have a safety net to protect the driver. Doing C2C is hard as the volume is low on one location.

Have you think of a worst case scenario? how long your company can supplement the driver until people start using your company instead of all existing one?

        • Good point so that is why we will supplement all drivers doing any deliveries to ensure they are earning a great hourly rate until it gets busy enough. We have the funds appropriated to cover these costs in the first year until volumes are sufficient.

    "Coming Soon…."
    Very trustworthy.

    • We are finalising the help etc for launch as we are still in Beta test mode and have not launched yet and we appreciate any feedback

  • Distance between pickup and delivery location is beyond our service area.

    • We only do deliveries within Melbourne Suburbs at the moment. Where are you trying to deliver to?

      • Melbourne to Sydney

        • Our service is for fast local deliveries only in each city and suburbs.. we are not an interstate service as you may have noticed from the information posted above

Parcelshare's parent company has other investments and interests as many companies do, so I cannot see what your point is? Amazon for example is involved in hundreds of different operations and investments under the parent company. This company was chosen to serve a particular purpose based on advice from an accountant.

So my next uber ride will be diverted to pick up a random parcel?

Any competition in parcel delivery is welcome.

I noticed you have not included 3336 Aintree which has now replaced 3335 Rockbank in Victoria

    • Thanks for the heads up, I'll pass that onto our web admin team.

  • Just got a quote from 3015 to Camberwell 3124
    2kg parcel, $14.24 ??

    that's a bit different to $8
