I'm not sure what the usual price is, and this could very well be an ad - but - I buy something like this from my Asian grocer and theyre pretty handy since they last longer than most.
I doubt they last longer than the scented candle trick.
You get a decent 2 years out of a high end "lush" or whatever type candle.

Yes all our products are made in Japan except for the V6 My Shaldan range (recently moved to Thailand).

No, it just kinda permeates through the packaging. You can test by picking them up in the shop and smelling.
NB - probably best not to leave it on the dash on a hot summer's day though.
Is there a risk of it bursting in the car?
Only if you're heavy and clumsy.

I use dryer sheets lasts couple months.
I put behind centre air vent, have to take out vents to install. And have some in plastic containers with big holes at the top, under front seats stuck to carpet with Velcro. $6-7 last me the year
