Weber Q 2000 LP BBQ $343.20 (RRP $429) + Delivery or Free Pick-up @ Rays

740

Have been looking for a while and this seems like a very good price to me. Best I could find was at The Good Guys for $389. Beats anything on eBay regardless of a possible 19% coming up.

Don't forget your Cash Rewards.

Do you love snags and lamb chops? You're probably after a good quality, easy to use and reliable BBQ. Well, this is just what you're looking for. It's hard to look past a Weber for reliability, and its great reputation for ease of use. The Weber Q (21000) LP has a sleek new design that looks fantastic, including a single spark igniter for your convenience, a stainless steel burner and a cast alloy lid and bowl. It comes with a drizzle collector to keep your meals healthy and has a thicker porcelain coating to make it easier to clean. If you want to be super thrifty you can buy this for $429 at the good guys, then return there later that day (or next few days) and enact the 30 day price guarantee which will see good guys give you $102.96 refund (120% of the difference) bringing the total price down to $326.04.

It’s more effort but I’ve used this trick many times.

You can do it online as well, you get the claim approved in minutes.

      I love ozbargain.

    • +3

To stack even further, you can get Good Guys gift cards at a discount and bring the price down even further!
So for example if you have access to 5% off GG GCs, that $326.04 is now $309.74.
      That's ultimate OzB'ing.

    • I've actually done the same with David Jones a year ago and stacking up a 10% voucher.

  • +2

As Ray's aren't listed as one of the Good Guys competitors, does that mean they'd not price match them.. From GG's website-

    Who are our competitors?*

Appliances Online, Big W, Bing Lee, David Jones, Harris Scarfe, Harvey Norman, House, JB HiFi, Joyce Mayne, Kitchenwaredirect.com.au, Kmart, Matchbox, Myer, Officeworks, Peters of Kensington, Retravision, Target, Victoria's Basement, Wheel & Barrow, Zanui

    • +1

Not sure if you are the one that negged me but for online claims it has to be the approved store, but in store it’s any bricks and mortar store within 30 km radius.

      • +3

No I didn't neg you. Just going off their website, as I'm in WA and there's zero Ray's Outdoors stores here anymore, so just making sure other WA residents aren't going to buy from the Good Guys and not be able to claim anything back.

  • do they have the version with the thermometer on the top?

    • +2

No, that's available only from "Specialist" Weber dealers, who rarely, if ever, have any special prices!
Here is this particular model (The Weber Q), in the "Premium" edition.

    • +4

Buy $5 ebay thermometer drill hole n put in titen up..

  • I'm pretty sure to enact the 30 day price guarantee is only if you buy it from Good guys in the first place and if they reduce the price later then they refund the 120% difference it's a trick. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

    • +3

No, if you find it cheaper elsewhere within 30 days you get the 120% difference. If you tell them at the time of purchase they are only obligated to beat the price, which usually they’ll only do by a $1 if their margins are tight.

  • Aldi have a very similar looking bbq next week for 249 including a stand and thermometer on the front.

    • +1

will be very surprised but curious to see it stack up to the Weber

      • +4

        Nothing beats a Weber.

        • That's right. Had a Ziegler and Brown for the same price which lasted less than five years with intermediate use. Our friends bought a Weber at the same time which is still in top shape with heavy use. You pay for what you get.

It's the same like saying there's a Honda that looks like a Porsche. Therefore they must be the same.

    • Got a link ?

    • Weber is known for its fuel efficiency. its cast iron lid hold heat well

    Also note the baby Q.

This is perfect is you’re cooking regularly for a group under 4.

As it uses less gas, takes less time to heat up.

I cook for 2-3 on it regularly and never had an issue with its size

    • Are you referring to cooking on baby q?

  • Thanks OP!!
20% off accessories too. Time to buy.

  • I got it for $180 from flower power using the Amex offer they had last year (spend 50 get 30 back) with my stack of amex cards

        $40 yuck!

      • Thanks. It wasn’t working for me, maybe because on tablet.

Called 3 Goodguys stores none classed Ray's as a direct competitor. Tried a random store in north qld they didnt either. Stil matched and used 5%off racq egift card

    • Same, I went to the good guys down the road from Rays and they refused to acknowledge the website pricing and wouldn’t go below $270 for a Q1000 Baby W

So I’ll pick one up from Rays tomorrow 🙂

  • You can use gift cards with 7% discount from here - https://sunsuper.redeemyourgiftcard.com.au

    • It asks for a promo code to grant access though?

    • You just made this deal even sweeter!!

Now, I have to decide between the Weber Q or Family Q. Can anyone help me make my mind up?

I currently have the Weber Charcoal but only get it going once a month. I would prefer to buy a gas BBQ.

      PLEASE HELP!!

      • We have a Weber Q instead of a Family Q because the Weber Q is portable (can come off the cart) for taking it places away from home!

        • Is there a difference in cooking surface between the Q and the family Q?

        • +2

@bargainfinder: yeah; more space (and weight)…

        • Yeah about 150% bigger on the family Q, from memory.
I remember it was definitely 150% bigger from baby Q to mid Q. You check the specs.

    • Did anyone buy this gift card today? The site says it takes 24 hrs to process. I also get an SQL error when trying to buy

  • +1

hi is there a diff weber q if i wanted to run natural gas ?

    • I think only the family q comes in natural gas or gas bottles

      • The Q2000 also comes in a NG variant but very uncommon; most people go LPG

  • I have a NG connection, is there a way to use this LP version?

Yesterday I went to the Weber store and they have both NG and LP for the Q2000.
The NG comes with 2m hose, and the LP hose is much shorter.

    • +1

You can't interchange fuel. LPG has higher energy density and therefore the holes in the burner are smaller. The NG model has bigger holes. Just buy the NG model.

  • Thanks OP.. Got the last Baby Q in store. They did say that if I wanted a larger one which had already sold out, they would honour the price if ordered before the deal expires COB tomorrow.

  • Not a fan of the Weber stands on offer. IMHO they look garbage and I don’t need wheels.
Any ideas for an outdoor bench/cupboard to hold up the Weber and hide the gas bottle?

  • Any idea how to prevent someone getting it from my balcony and running away?

    • Bike chain?

  • BCF will price match this if there isnt a rays close to you, they wont ship online anymore.
