        This was meant for India and to rival with OnePlus, and i assume that they thought India doesn't need NFC and decided not to add it. Although they should have, a lot of people outside of India will buy this too (especially Australia, Europe and sometimes US).

        It sucks not having NFC but it's not a needed feature (for now). This phone is still great regardless (notch is kinda okay too).

        @SDF05: nfc is hang for payments….. forgot wallet the other day and nfc for pay,ent would have been handy ….. also some public transports systems are trialing instead of cards eg in victoria they have trial for android instead of myki.

  With top of the range iPhone is now more than 2k, it makes Galaxy note 9 a budget phone. I guess "budget" is a money term, so whether a phone is a budget phone is gage by its price, not its hardware/software.
