Was browsing headphones and it seems like Rebel have discounted quite a few of their stock. Not sure if it's advertised anywhere but some nice prices.

You need to pay for shipping for orders under $150 otherwise they have Click & Collect. Seems like there's plenty of stock in store. Don't forget to use cash back for 3.5%!

Don't know about the others, but you can get the Logitech UE Megaboom for cheaper:

    eBay $200.45

    eBay $204.25

Actually for that price, you could've almost gotten the new Megaboom 3 (there's no 2) from Myer here for $239.20 with their 20% off code a few days ago.

    • +1

Yeah I didn't really know much about the Megaboom to be honest. I mainly posted it for the Plantronics and Jaybird earphones as I know they are popular on Ozbargain. I didn't even buy any of these myself!

      • Yeah - I only know because I was looking at speakers, researched the Megaboom, and then realised there was an updated Megaboom 3 out and very luckily Myer had their 20% off code right as I was looking to buy. +$20 for the new model that literally came out basically last month? Yes please.

Also - did no one post any Myer deals during their 20% off on eBay sale? There must've been some good deals other than the Megaboom 3.

Cheapest price I've seen for the Jaybird X3s.

Plantronics have new models coming in hence the clearance, good timing as my old ones just died.

Found out my Backbeat Fits are still under warranty so didn't need to worry about a replacement………. then went and bought the Jaybird X3s anyway, because apparently 4 sets of headphones (in use currently) wasn't enough :/

Was the last of the blacks from Adelaide City Cross, they still had 3 or so in white.

    • I lost my blue Backbeat fit a few weeks ago and I desperately miss them. Now I'm curious about these new models and so I'll be a bit torn on which to get.

Hmmm. Might just go and get what I know and love and visit Officeworks tomorrow.

      • Cannot see any details about new Plantronic models and I couldn't be stuffed waiting anyway so just ordered some Black Backbeat Fits for myself.

        • @dav3: Thanks for the heads up. The Backbeat Fit 2100 looks good and the price of AU$159 is definitely a plus. I think the main difference for me is the tap controls which I hope is going to be done to the older models as well.

Here is a review of the new version.

Overall I'm happy to stick with the ones I just got (and will pick up tonight) for $95.

        • @danielh:

Hi Daniel, does the Backbit fit nicely/easily into the ear? I saw reviews that it's a one size fit all? I generally use medium/large in ears.

        • +1

@pippohippo: I have a large head and it fits beautifully. Remember that these are for runners and so it fits really nicely over my ears but does not wedge into my ear canal like buds (my preference as I like to be able to hear oncoming traffic etc). I also find it uncomfortable if I have something jammed in my ear canal for too long and so this is why I have been using this for the last 4 years (until I lot them and had to replace it).

        • @danielh:

          good point!

Also, do you wear glasses/sunnies while using them? I wear glasses/sunnies, and not sure if it will be comfortable if the glasses frame and earphones are both on the ear.

        • @danielh:

Just bought a grey pair. Looks nice and feels comfy even with glasses, but disappointed it didnt come with a carry case!

        • +1

@pippohippo: Just pop into Daiso and there are a bunch of small pleather zip up cases which will fit the headset. I use a round one as it folds up into the round case nicely.

        • @danielh:

          Yep doing that tonight!

The jaybird x4 comes out in a few weeks

  • Thanks - I had been waiting for a good price on a set of X3s, been eyeing them off for ages so I have a second set to go with my X2s.

Picked them up in-store from Melb Central, they still had stock.

  • Don't forget OW price beat. However it looks like OW may not have much in stock. (have only checked for Plantronics Fit)

    • They won't price beat clearance but never hurts to try.

What is excluded from the Price Beat Guarantee?
Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)
Commercial quantities and pricing (i.e. a reduced price not available to the public)
Stock liquidations (i.e. competitor clearance products or goods sold by a business placed into receivership)

On a sidenote, Can't decide between Jaybird X3, Freedom 2 or the Plantronics Backbeat Fit. Anyone with recommendations please shout out!

      Thanks!

I love my Plantronics Backbeat Fits as it does NOT do the following:
        1. where you have to shove something into your ear canal
        2. those models where the loose wire just flops around and easily gets tangled up
        3. nor like the Apple Airpods where one bounce and it falls out and gets lost

        Likes:
        1. I like how the Fits just comfortably rest in your ear area but allows external noise (like a car that is about to hit you when you are riding your bike)
        2. I like how you can wear them for hours on a plane (and even have a nap) without feeling uncomfortable
        3. I like the long battery life and the original pair I had from many years ago (recently lost) had an awesome battery life and that was regularly used
        4. I like the simple easy to use controls that allow me to control my music (vol up and down, track forward and back, pause/play) as well as being able to use it as a good wireless headset for conversations

        Hope that helps.

FYI I have not used (nor even seen) those other models you talk about.

        • No worries. As I mentioned in the other comment I got the Backbeat Fit as well. Used it for a week and I love it. Great for sports and walks. Very light and sometimes I forget i'm wearing it at work. Battery is amazing as well, and the quick charge is brilliant.

  • X3 should come down in price as x4s have been announced

  • +1

Thanks for this heads up OP. Can confirm that JB Hi Fi did a price match on the $105 price for the X3s. They just wanted to make sure they were an Australian online store. When they saw it was Rebel sports, it was not a problem.

Absolute bargain. $199 RRP at JB Hifi currently, so super happy. Thanks OP!

(Oh and from what I've read, unless you need waterproofing for heavy rain or swimming, the X3s are much better value given the price difference between this bargain and expected X4 release RRP)
