How the hell can they advertise it as new but then have this line

OEM means no box not retail package, doesn't mean it is not new but 3 months warranty is a bit too short.

Exactly my point, how can they advertise something as new but only with a 3 month warranty? I'm sure ACCC will have a field day with these.

Actually, that is what GIGABYTE intended to do.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/MINING-Series (noted these are Nvidia cards in the link, so I am not sure if AMD mining cards with 3mth warranty did exist)

GIGABYTE at one point did sell mining cards with very plain packaging and with lesser warranty coverage.

      • Which there's no mention of this model on their AU website, and you can easily tell why if they're expecting that warranty to be legal here.

Obviously these are imported by the seller, so will need to go back through them to get any warranty anyway (and not sure they'd have a leg to stand on with only offering 3 months).

  • Id go with the ASUS 570 over this I guess.

If the card is dead after 3 months, you are screwed. You can get a Asus RX 580 strix for only $322 with 3 year warranty. I doubt that it is worthy to take that risk.

    • Consumer rights > Sellers claims.

Not screwed, but you're in for some potential hassle in the form of arguments with seller…
