  • Only if that's a B350 motherboard…

Funny the 2200g is apu, why not pair with normal Ryzen cpu

    • Agree doesnt make sense…GO with a different CPU or go the 2400G and remove the 570, poor build…

      • +2

It's still one of the best budget CPUs out there.

    • because the 2200g is the improved version of the ryzen 3 1200? The price is the same as the 1200 as well. Any normal ryzen CPU would be double the cost. Then the RX 570 is loads more powerful than any of the 2200G or 2400G iGPU's.

    • +1

It actually makes sense, because AMD doesn't make a GPU-less CPU in that price range, and you don't need a more powerful CPU if all you're doing is the kind of low-end gaming you'll be doing with this build.

    • +3

Coincidentally, this is an amazing deal for anyone who wants to do GPU Passthrough, which needs an iGPU or a separate dGPU.

    • +1

All Intel chips have integrated graphics, yet it's the most common choice for gaming PCs where people install dedicated GPUs.

  • How nice, you're in SA, they're in SA… 😂

    • Don't be so cynical lol - OP could just be looking at local sellers because they don't want their PC shipped interstate.

      • +1

        You calling me cynical?

        Lol pot meet kettle 😂

Oh look at the tag on OPs name now…

        mic drop

There is literally only one road in SA so i can see their building, Olympic Dam mine, Adelaide oval, Farmer's Union iced coffee HQ and frog cake dispatch from my bedroom window.

  • OP: Any idea what the PSU is? The people buying this PC won't know to care, but it's pretty important information.

    • I might msg their account and see

    • They got back to me - I asked about all their components, fail rates, warranties on TechFast branded stuff. ANd they updated their listing so surely we're not the only one who's asking:

      "Good afternoon,

All TechFast branded items are sourced and thoroughly tested before use in our systems. We use multiple brands depending on availability and are confident that our TechFast branded components stand alongside better known brand names in expectations for performance and reliability.

Regarding the Power Supply, it has a 2 year warranty and the system itself has a 1 year return to base warranty covering all components, plus lifetime phone support. Quite honestly, we have found the fail rates of the 550W power supply to be better than many brand names we have used in the past. That's why we use them.

      Kind regards,

      Luke"

  • nice little 1080p rig

  • Anyone know exactly what model the GPU is?

    • +1

They got back to me earlier this afternoon when I asked about components:

"The RX 570 will be the ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 570 OC 4GB."

Looks like now they've updated the lsiting to say OC, and brand. I'd say they've had a few people ask.

What’s the catch, you can’t build this for anywhere near that cheap?

    • +2

Wholesale OEM prices, and/or getting rid of excess stock/parts, and/or loss-leading. Plus some of the savings is borne by eBay with their code.

(But obviously expect generics for every part.)

  • Pointy is only 10% off, if you have ebay plus use Plusit15 for 15% off to make it $509.15.

Should smash the OzB special (Optiplex 9010/20 plus 1050ti) out of the water for a similar price.

  • This would be fine for general web browsing / basic office work right? Don't do PC gaming.

    • +1

Even this would be overkill for that - you don't need a dedicated GPU for web browsing/basic office work. Get a refurb Dell Optiplex, swap in a SDD for better speed.

    Single ram stick :(
Buy a 2nd 8gb stick in the future when ddr4 prices decline. Should improve performance to have ram in dual channel mode

  • What a sick deal!! thanks OP

  • These sellers have some crazy auctions, i wonder if they honour those, no way they're making a profit. The above listed build sold for $380 posted pre-discounts

that said, i have ordered a few things from them and both delivery and service were excellent.

  • what is the max gpu this can support? and do you think 2200 will be a good fit with a 1080ti or what cpu upgrade minimum?

Just for gaming and heavy multitasking (lots of programs open, lots of tabs open, etc)

    • this wont support a 1080ti due to the power requirement of the 1080ti being 600watt minimum.

for your usage a high tier cpu would suit, eg intel i7 or amd ryzen 7.

you would also want a much better power supply unit to run high tier stuff. you dont want a cheap psu frying your expensive 1080ti

      • The 1080ti is a 270w GPU at most, 550w is plenty. The rest of the build could only use about 80w, the only GPU you wouldn't want to run with this system is an overclocked Vega 64 or 2080ti. Nvidia is very generous with their wattage recommendations to account for enthusiast systems.

Of course the 2200g will bottleneck with anything higher than a 1070 (And potentially 2060?) so it'd be a waste. And yeah, the PSU itself probably isn't great.

I wouldn't buy this system if you plan on upgrading it down the line. You'll be stuck on an old A320 motherboard with 8gb running at an unknown speed and the CPU will need to be upgraded.

        • New question what is the lowest cpu you would pair with a 1080Ti for gaming.

  • A320 seriously nerfs the performance

  • Is this better build than Dell OptiPlex9020 i7 + 1050 Ti card which will cost same as this build.

    • +2

In my opinion, yes it is - it's new, has non-proprietry components, and comes with a warranty.

  • Thanks mate. Good point. What about performance. If it's similar in performance. We will buy this one.
