The Bosch Quigo Plus is a self-levelling cross line laser which projects two perfectly horizontal and vertical lines onto any wall. With clear laser visibility up to 7 metres with markings at equal distances, the Quigo Plus is ideal for all levelling jobs around the home, from hanging pictures straight on the wall to levelling tiles. Easy to use: The sliding switch makes the Quigo quick and simple to use, with the cross line laser being projected onto any surface as soon as the sliding switch is opened. This sliding switch makes the Quigo a suitable tool for anyone to use, even those without much previous DIY experience. The sliding switch also doubles up as a protective cover to avoid the laser being damaged whilst in transit or storage. Sloping function: As well as being self-levelling, the Bosch Quigo Plus also has a sloping function which means that the cross line locks into position when tilted at an angle to maintain the perfect 90 degree angles. This means that it's also ideal for applications such as hanging pictures in line the stairs. A red LED light on top blinks to make clear that it's locking system for slope function is in use as it's outside of the +/-4 degree self-levelling range. The Quigo also simplifies more practical jobs, such as the fitting of bathroom or kitchen cabinets, putting up perfectly placed shelves, and more. It is even ideal for hanging picture frames on your wall, or positioning mirrors. The Quigo's long working range with a line length of up to 7 metres means that you don't have to apply it repeatedly like you do with a spirit level. The line will form as far as you need it, all by itself. This means you can get your home looking exactly how you like it, with minimal effort. Digital Measuring Tools from Bosch Digital measuring tools from Bosch impress with precision and extremely easy operation—whether when levelling objects, measuring distances or detecting all different kinds of materials and power cables.

  • Any good as a camera tripod? lol

this one uses same fitting / thread as cameras, my surveying gear uses a heavier size thread, as the equipment is heavier.

  • Thanks OP

This is only the bosch green version but fine for DIY use …

$69 and bunnings and no tripod ..

    • Cool clamp on that one!

      • yeah, think the idea is clamp it to anything and get to point it autolevels eg side of ladder, starpicket, etc, etc.

tripods are limiting if you need to level things above head height, this clamp overs more flexibility, you can get cheap tripod at target or kmart, not that clamp.

I have this and the next model up. I prefer the next model up as the laser beam is finer. The one on this is quite thick which limits accuracy.

Also the next model up lets you lock the laser on (by default, both of them will only switch the laser on if it can align itself correctly). Being able to lock the laser on means you can use it to mark any angle, not just 0 and 90 degrees.

I do find the clamp a lot more useful. The next model up that I bought came with a tripod which I don't use. I'm using the clamp that came with this cheaper Quigo one.

  • Does anyone know how to open one of these up? I have one from a previous deal (with a laser distance measure and electric cable detector), but the cross laser line has never worked for me. It looks like the pendulum is swinging on only one axis, so if you tilt the unit a little bit the line also tilts, so it is not projecting a horizontal line. There's a couple of screws in the battery compartment, but removing them is not enough to open it.

I didn't use mine for over a year after getting it, so the warranty ran out before I used it. If you do get one of these, make sure it is actually self levelling. Sit it on a desk and light it up. Then wedge it up slightly on the left or right. If the line projects a different level, it ain't self levelling and something is wrong (like with mine).

    • Although I haven't owned this model, I've had similar in the past and they usually have a sliding switch on the side which you need to slide to release the pendulum. Helps to avoid damage when in transit. May seem obvious but easy to miss, especially when you may have a separate on button.

      • The sliding switch on this one is the cover over the laser. You slide it up to reveal the transparent panel through which the laser projects. This also turns it on. It is also what releases the pendulum. i.e. you cannot see the laser without also unlocking the pendulum.

  • Can this also be used on floors e.g for tiling etc?

Won't work for 90° angles on floors no, it will only give you a straight line which you then would use the 3,4,5 rule.

You'd need something like this for an all in one unit.
https://imexlasers.com.au/product/imex-lx3dg-3-dimension-mul… Just bought one last week, does a full 360° line too.

Either that or get a separate floor laser, but they usually need to be manually levelled and unless you've got it perfectly level, Its likely to be off, which is no good for large areas.

Spend the money and get an all in one self levelling unit in my opinion.
